bit late..
Cleveland GM is still hung over from all the parties, so he has missed some calls and meetings. But he finally got his coffee and send emails apologizing.
Cleveland offers Lebron whatever contract he will agree to. We expect him to want a 1+1 but we hope he chooses a full max and end all the future questions now that we have won a title together. Our pitch? I don't think we need one with him honestly.
We have a good Lebron-relationship with Smith, so we expect him to agree to come back. If Lebron agrees to a full max, we offer JR a 4/36 mil deal. If Lebron does another 1+1, we offer JR a 2+partially guaranteed(3mil?) for 10 mil a year. We don't want to offend him, as we really like him, so assuming Lebron does a 1+1 we tell JR to check with us before agreeing with another team if he doesn't like the offer we made though I think both are pretty fair? Those numbers might be way off for JR, but he played great for us and we are all about teamBron this offseason. I will feel awkward if JR gets no offers above 5 mil a year but I expect another GM to have watched the playoffs.
Cleveland tells Matty he can test the market but we will be matching anything, really we have a number in mind that we won't go over, but you don't need to know what it is just like GM's wouldn't know what it is - we can PM that number to the agent if that makes it more realistic? We have a very big fair number in mind for him though as his role isn't easily replaced for a team already over the cap. Our initial offer is 4yr/32.
We know Mo isn't turning his option down, and the other FA's don't matter as they can be brought back for vet min deals (RJ, Jones). We are very hopeful RJ comes back for a vet min deal. Will even include a player option on a second season?
We also don't renounce Mozgov's hold. We understand he might be very upset about his decreased role this season, but if no one offers him big money we'd like the ability to bring him back on a cheap deal. A bigger fan of the Cavs might have better insight to this just not being an option though? Possible the two sides have no interest.
We are (probably unrealistically) interested in moving Shumpert and Frye.
We aren't moving Love or Kyrie unless someone decides to play superstar value for them. We understand they may not be superstars, but we just won a championship.
We understand our payroll is huge, but we are hoping it becomes less painful as the cap increases, which is why we are targeting long term deals with our FA's. Our guys ideally locked into what will be considered reasonable contracts in two years.
.
To clean it up a bit;
Lebron - his choice of max 1+1 or ideally full loyalty max.
JR - either 4yr/36 or 3yr/30 mil (with 3rd year only 3 mil guaranteed) depending on Lebron's contract. 4years if Lebron stays, 2 guaranteed if Lebron does a 1+1.. Will up the offer if klutch tells us to, but will have to argue over it for at least a month.
Delle - test the market but we are going to match as we need him. Hoping he chooses our 4yr/32mil starter as it's reasonable and locks him in on a contender with a defined role
Love/Kyrie - offer like they are superstars if you are going to offer
TT - offer like he is an all-star, but LeBron has to agree to it.. So probably don't offer honestly.
RJ - vet min 2 years
Mozgov - only renounced if he has our number blocked. If we can't land a better "real" center, we will offer him a lowball 3yr15 mil if he is still available.
Mo - possibly trade filler if we get active, possibly 3rd PG cheerleader. Undetermined but he sadly didn't opt out.
We also have a 9.6 million dollar TPE that we aren't afraid of spending 20 million on. But we don't want Brewer for it.. Sorry.
And again sorry for partying. But we won! So, as has been said, there isn't really much necessary to the offseason. And yes, I didn't check the thread before/at work. My fault.
Waiting to hear back from LBJ, Smith, Delly, and RJ after day one.

Cleveland wants to talk Shumpert. We understand Kostas has more value than Shumpert though. So we should expand that.. Bogdan, Ben for our next available first (2020 lottery protected w/ lowering protection) and (later of) LAL/Minn 2019 2nd added to it?
