but what I don't get is it really just a lack of wins that is keeping fans away? or is there something more?
the reason I ask is because many teams who have much fewer wins than us in recent years still have far better attendance. why can other teams go through 5+ years of being horrible and not get hurt at ticket sales like we did? (and its only been 3 years after 10 playoff years).
so I dont think its only winning percentage which leads to fans showing up or not. it definitely helps obviously, but there are other factors involved IMO.
if the nuggets surprise this year, win 45 games and make the playoffs is the PC suddenly packed again?
It's a lack of a competitive team and a lack of recognizable talent.
Name the teams that have horrible seasons yet still have high ticket sales? Knicks, Lakers, Celtics....all teams with very storied pasts and players, unlike the Nuggets. Just because I'm a fan doesn't mean I owe it to the team to attend games. We all work hard for our money, I'm not just going to throw it away attending pointless Nuggets games. Face it, the Nuggets aren't good right now, until they are or they add a face people know the stands will be empty.
makes sense.
but then how do teams like new orleans, philadelphia, sacramento, and phoenix have more attendance than us?
