Lol, didn't stop Lebron from leaving Cleveland. Durant wants to win a Title or two and GS offers the best opportunity.

Guys I had a prophesy Durant is signing with us so don't worry it's in the bag

I can't believe I've spent this entire beautiful July 4th weekend on my phone in a KD thread....

But yet, I can't put it down....

I hope I dont get cold showered tonigth...would be devastating if he picked GSW, a consolation is he goes back to OKC on a 1+1 deal. Go back at him next year..

If KD goes to GSW and Chicago wants Ainge to overpay for Butler in Ainge's shoes, I say go fly a kite in less diplomatic terms.

At that point Boston just has to focus on being the clear 2nd best team in the EC and praying that key players on Cleveland and GSW get hurt.

If the Celtics get bad news tonight, Celtics still have a chance to win a title without KD....Ainge just needs luck and to make a few really good moves sooner before the trading deadline.

I like your optimism, but how? This team with no KD isn't even a legit "contender" nevermind winning a title. Only way this team enters legit "contender" status and actually wins a title is if we put a Top 15 NBA talent(at minimum) on this roster by the start of the 2017 playoffs. Who, other than possibly Cousins, is even possibly available? Everything rides on Durant for the 2016-2017 season...........no ifs, ands or buts about it. This team is not a contender..........yet. Not being a hater, simply keeping it real.

I know this won't sit well with you but there is the Piston way. Add Noel to this team and there are actually a lot of parallels between the two teams. I'm not the biggest fan of Butler, but if we want a top 20 type of player, he's another option on top of Noel.

No fn way. I'm not going to kill Danny for giving the ol' college try on Durant..............but best believe the old school vintage Banners fn Only is back in town if Durant doesn't sign here tonight. This team with Horford only and no Durant or Cousins ride-a-long is firmly entrenched in Atlanta fn Hawks circa 2014-2016 land. Good enough to tease and fool people in the regular season...........going to eventually get stomped the eff out in the playoffs. It's not hating.........it[s calling it like it fn is. However, make no mistake, I'm still optimistic on Durant to Boston. But if he doesn't? I'm not going to be a happy camper.

If Durant goes to the Warriors he deserves all the ridicule he gets. And I hope he gets a lot.

Butler is a top 15ish player and I think he goes on sale before the deadline if Chicago sees the writing on the wall. Nerlens Noel may be a nice get as well before the deadline for a cheap price.

Celtics would be a darkhorse but with 1 or 2 good moves before the deadline could position themselves to

1) upset the Cavs if the Cavs don't come to play well or the Cavs suffer an injury to a key player like Irving/TT. Cavs obviously done with Lebron injury.
2) GSW with KD obviously far superior if healthy but their bench would be bad and if they suffered an injury to a top 4 player in the playoffs, they would be vulnerable to a Celtics team that could legitimately be 9 deep.

Without KD, I am not optimistic about the Celtics being a _title favorite_ but with good moves, I do think Ainge can position themselves over the next 2-3 years to have a decent chance to get lucky and win a title.

Personally speaking I think the Cavs got a little lucky this year after having some bad luck the previous year. Weak east and GSW breaking down/Green suspension at the right time.

Celtics would need even more luck than the Cavs but it could happen.

And I will never root for the Warriors. It would make me to start rooting for the Cavaliers.

I'm thinking he goes back to OKC for one more year. Gives them one more shot at a title and if they don't at least make the finals with Westbrook returning the next year, he's gone. And he'll get an even bigger contract next year since the cap is going up again. Plus it's hard for him to look like a villain in OKC when he had a chance to leave but decided to come back and give it at least one more shot instead.

Stop hating on Durant for theoretically going to GS, send the positive vibes and the man will arrive

I hope Tom Brady sends him a really nasty voice mail message if he spurns us for GS....and Ortiz tweets him something vulgar, in Spanish.

And he better watch his back and have eyes on the back of his head too....because Kelly "The Terminator, Jr." Olynyk will be out, hunting down for his arm socket...

It would be like a combo of Lebron and Ray Allen's decisions. Long term superstar leaving to another team in the conference, and the Allen aspect is that it's to the team that just knocked them out in 7 games in the conference finals. Not to mention a team that just set the all time wins record.

Definitely about Durant. Her last tweet looks hopeful though? I would assume Horford and maybe IT are some of the only people that know what's happening right now.

Why would Al Horford's little sister be one of the first people to break this news?

I'm all for freaking out, but I don't buy it LOL
