I didn't question Smitty. I said his "sources" are full of sh*t. His "sources" have no skin in the game.........they are anonymous. Smitty has skin in the game..........his name on twitter and realgm. I never called him out but, best believe, I am saying his "sources" are full of it and misleading him if they are telling him something is close or more than just normal trade jibber jabber.
Name one reporter or writer who NAMES their sources? Saying a person's sources are anonymous is how it works.
No sh*t. Did I ask him to name his "sources"? No. I simply said his "sources" are misleading him and he's the one who will take the heat for it if it's not true. That's how reporting works in the big leagues. Anyone who thinks Woj from Yahoo doesn't have any info info Doc on an advanced talk Griffin to Boston deal but other people do is kidding themselves. Everyone in the NBA knows Doc leaks everything to Woj first. Been that way for years.

Just curious, but do you expect Woj to report any of this when it's only in the rumors stage? That doesn't seem like that's what he's done in years.

Well there isn't much choice there is there? I will say right now whatever top 5 picks they get will be better than Griffin. Westbrook may be tough to beat, but Stevens and Co. may come close. Griffin and Westbrook are 27. The draft picks may be around 19-20. That's 7 extra years. And I bet they mature very quickly with the FA additions and the coaching. Just watch Jaylen this year. You have what, 5 ish years of elite performance form those guys before they start slowing down? I'd rather have 10 years. Just makes more sense.
How do we know this?? Do you even know today who'd you want out of next year's draft?
Oh wait. You are a now now now person right? With no guarantee and to hell with what happens post year 4 or 5? Back to the dark days? See, that makes no sense to me. None at all. They may get lucky and win one this year with what they have right now.

and "everybody knows" WOJ waits until "done deal" time before reporting most of the news he breaks.
You've been spoiled with play-by-play from an organic, developing situation and acting like a little bitch because you don't understand how the business works.
Why don't you shut the **** up and enjoy being privy to an ongoing situation instead of continuing with the rebel without a clue routine.
Cuz when it comes to actually grasping how media and bball ops interact - you sir are the biggest ham and egger of them all.

We got KG 100% because of Kevin McHale and Jefferson turned out to be a stud.
We don't have one single player to give away that's a stud other than IT and Horford. Forget the picks, forget Bradley and Jae and other scrubs we have no STAR or potential star players that other teams want.
Why would ANYONE give you a star player for some scrubs or some draft picks that have 0.1% chance of being good like the star player you would receive.
If you had a Ferrari would you trade it for Ford Focus ? Sure both will take you to point A and B but that Ferrari will get you there in style.
Our entire roster right now has two OK All Stars and solid role players - nothing else. So if you area GM ...would you give a bonafied ALL STAR player for someone like Jae, Bradley, Smart and some picks...
The only way you might consider this is if you are 100% sure that your free agent won't return. Other than that NO.
People like to mention the KG trade. We traded 7 players for KG. Al Jefferson was and still is one of the best low post scorers in the game.
Again say what you want but this is how I seperate MEN from the BOYS..
IT. - Solid player and a back up ALL STAR.
Al Horford - Very good player and also back up ALL Star
These two players are very good players and COULD get you a TRUE star if a trade was going to happen but they are not your ELITE, KILLER ALL STARS
jae crowder
Al bradley
Marcus Smart
Olenyk
Jerberko can't even write his name
Zeller
Brown
Etc etc etc
To me these players are LAUGHING STOCK.
Bradley would do fine in Cleveland and Warriors for defensice purposes and what not. Same with Jae to be that James Posey guy. Or Leon Powe
but realisticay all these guys besides IT and Al Horford dont fetch that much.
So again, its nice to talk about rumors but I have to agree with BannersOnly. People do crazy and weird things for attention and some cyber fame.
This pathetic loser on Twitter is just a lamer who is probably on these forums, heck maybe even involved with this thread.
A lesson should be learned from the KD fiasco. KD was never coming here to play with the players we have now.
I respect Al Horfords decision to play here but giving him that amount of mone at 30 yrs of age WE MUST COMPETE for a championship while he is still somewhat young. If by 33-34 we are not a serious contenders then that Max Contract the gave him was a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY.

Well, I'm not necessarily a "now now" guy, but a legit star for the right price makes sense to me, as it should anyone.
I liked your initial post since you at least gave a name to look out for this coming season. Cause if we don't know who to look out for, why do we value the pick so much? And that's assuming it eventually turns into another top 3 pick; it's funny some of the debbie downers (not you) of this very rumor topic don't emphasize that pessimism towards whether the lottery plays in our favor or not. Not saying the Nets will finish last and that will turn into the 5th pick, but optimism/pessimism I'd like to think work both ways.
And yea, if they get to the ECF, it's a success. But it's highly unlikely they win this year.

Woj doesn't post rumors any more. He basically let's you know when deals are finished.
