An athletic wing with potential and no jumpshot? I think we already have one of those don't we?
I wouldn't call it "no jumpshot"...more of a "developing jumpshot"...he shot 35% on 2 atts/gm last year at Indiana, and shoots about 70-75% from the FT line.
Shooting is supposed to be fixable at the NBA level, yes? Well, he's a nice two-way wing with decent size, hustle, and handles, and appears fairly fearless. I'd love to stick him at the end of the bench, or sign him to DL, and see how he develops over a season or two. 6'7" 220 is a nice size with a Max Vert of 36", great lane agility time, slightly below avg 3/4 sprint/shuttle times.
Anyway, I like guys with heart and who are not afraid to mix-it-up with the competition...how do you not root for a guy like that over other guys like Alec Brown or Kuric who might be able to shoot, but offer little else.
He made 14/15 FTs yesterday; if he's willing to drive and take the hard fouls, and can shoot like that from the FT line, he'd be a great guy to put on garbage time this season and take advantage of other teams' garbage-time players.
Look at the 3 games he started; pretty nice stats, and we all saw how active and strong he was on the floor.

I don't mind giving the kid a chance. But the fact is, we already have an athletic wing with the same issues and we only have so much development resources and playing time to go around. One of them will suffer.
