i am disappointed the timing never worked out for him, and i really think if he deserved playing time , he could have shown it in practice. I do think he'll eventually be a starter in this league if he can sustain a consistent jump shot.
I think ultimately his ceiling is probably RJ so i am okay with the trade
His ceiling is RJ? WTF? RJ was damn near an All Star last season.
Dinwiddie would have to get passed around at coach's conventions like a sex toy to even get that close to being picked
That's what puzzles you about that post?
I'm puzzled that he's "okay" with giving up an asset he believes has RJ potential for a guy we already cut!
Not sure whether it was the injury or something else, but Dinwiddie simply didn't look like an NBA player most of the time last year. We all had hopes we'd gotten a steal in the second round last year, but it didn't work out that way. It happens.
Basically guys that use there size to draw the defense and kick it out, have ability to finish at the rack and spread the floor with a jump shot. I am tempted to say livingston but i don't see really much post play in SD's game yet.
I don't know what the reactions are about, i am merely pointing to his potential not what he currently is.
Lastly you guys forget that he's still in his 3rd year and has yet to play any consistent minutes. He obviously has potential, as you can't just outplay Drose and Jwall causually, and the ability is obviously there. His biggest question mark is his jump shot , which seemed to be coming around in the D-League before he got injured. Hopefully a different situation with more consistent minutes will help him turn it around.
Also if SD's ceiling is RJ, he's not going to develop into that player as our 3rd pg. I am okay with trading him for nothing as imo, he'll never be better than RJ. I would have like to have gotten more value, but rarely are you going to get anything for your 3rd pg. Furthermore, i think SVG was intrigued by Bairstow, he didn't anticipate him being little b* and refusing to play
