small change to my pick, Magic is for 85-86 season, not 84-85. I made an error on the year when I picked. He is eligible for 85-86 and 90-91. He basically had exact same stats for both years, so no real difference there. I choose the younger version of Magic because he was quicker and more athletic. The older version averaged more points, but that was out of team needs as Kareem was older/gone and they needed Magic to score more.

This is a fun way to learn about players and teams from days gone. I've found so much cool info about players in the last few days while doing research.

This was the only thread that was unread for me and I'm starving for basketball content. Figured I'd go ahead and read through it.

I'm sorry guys, I wanted to keep it fresh and unorthodox, but I have to go with LeBron's 2012-13 season for my All NBA pick. 26.8 points per game on 56.5% FG, he shot over 40% from three, and had a TS% of 64%. He also averaged 8.0 boards and 7.3 assists on a career low 3.0 TOs. BBREF tells me that season he had WS of 19.3 (I didn't know that win shares could get that high).

Was tempted to go with a different category, but just couldn't pass up arguably the best regular season performance of all time. Plus I can build around LeBron any number of ways, so hopefully that gives me some flexibility once the pickings get slim.

Really had very little choice there. Lebron and MJ were my if he falls to me I take no matter what players.

I was surprised he made it this far, though I cant argue with any of the picks that have come before you.

I've been worrying about this for days. I think I've got a decent shot for the guy I want to drop(though at pick 9 im bound to have to go in a direction I don't want to), but who damn knows. This waiting is some kind of torture.

I select 89-90 Hakeem with the Stone Hands pick. 24ppg, 14rpg, 3apg, 2spg, 4bpg. Obviously not on the level of MJ or Magic but brings scoring, passing, defense, rim protection, etc. to my team. A good overall player to have when building a roster. And besides Dirk, who else has won a title without the help of other perrenial All Stars!?

The player that MJ would first pick to build a championship team with, was dominant both sides of the ball. You can argue for all of these guys

Lamar, I was strongly considering that pick and one other, but couldn't pass up LBJ. Nice choice.

Alright finally the time for my pick is in. I'm going to stay away from the "superstar" in maybe the traditional sense of the word and i'm going to go with the ultimate glue-guy. The premier team player. The rock upon which I will build my house.

With the Closer pick, i'm going to go with 05-06 MVP, the man himself, Steve Nash.

Image

Let's have a quick look at the digits.

18.8 ppg. 10.5 ast. 4.2 reb. 51% fg. 44% 3pt. 92% ft. 79 games played.

1 MVP

You're probably thinking to yourself, wow that's a really dumb pick. You're probably right. I could get a similar point guard way later. You're probably saying, haha steve nash never even won a title.

But, I say this to you. Could your point guard do this...

Image

Did your point guard get the top 50 gold star?

Image

Can your point guard skate?

Image

Can he?

Image

Can he be a professional-level soccer player like my point guard?

I seriously doubt it.

It hurt me a little bit, but I have to respect his game. I would have to be one of those terrible owners that talks smack about players on my own team through the media.

As long as you put someone else on the team to hit the winning shot ala Irving, Allen, Bosh
