But certainly an awesome player to pick so late into this thing.

There's another guy out there that I contemplated taking a pick or two ago and passed for the same reason.

I was debating a few rounds ago between Ray Allen and Rick Barry for my sharp shooting wing. Went with Ray because he functions better w/out the ball in his hands.

Yeah I looked at rick Barry as well, thought you also have the danger of trying to compare a player from the 70s with modern ballers

I knew the story about his character, he was an arrogant **** and that's why i selected Bobby Jones as the leader off the bench mob right before him. Barry will be allowed to do anything he wants to do when he comes off the bench, just to satisfy his ego.

...waits for Rick Barry to demand starting over Mitch Richmond or else he will form his own team.

Same thing could be said with most of our teams. McGrady, Iverson, etc.

Iverson for sure. LOL. He'd never come off the bench.

Easy, then i'll start him over Richmond. Richmond was one of the most patient NBA player, also a consummate professional

One of the biggest problems teams will be faced with is having a player to defend the opposing teams stars. Especially in a draft with the best players ever available. Thus you need to have a stopper on your roster who can actually defend the likes of MJ or Lebron James.

Andre Iguodala - Championship Bench - 2014-2015 (NBA finals MVP)

He's also use to coming off the bench, allowing the locker room to be stable.

I see your point but... Barry is up there with Kobe in regards to his ego and opinion of himself. T-Mac was fine with extending his career and being a mediocre role player for a few years. Barry called it quits once the Rockets made him the sixth man.

I agree, Barry was an egomaniac just like Kobe. But every player has their own flaw, Tmac isn't an exception. He also quit the Rockets. Remember Toronto Game? When he gave up and just stand watching his teammates hustling like crazy, because he felt he didn't get enough touches. That day he lost a lot of his fans, include me.

I always love his game, he was as talented as Kobe, sadly he had choose the wrong path when he left the Raptors because he didn't want to be a second fiddle next to Vince. That's why i don't think a prime Tmac would love to play off the bench, he'll quit the team

I've been thinking about moving Hill to the bench ever since the pick, for what it's worth.

Not with MJ in the starting lineup. The GOAT will keep AI's ego in check.

Will have my pick shortly. Kind of at the point where my research has fallen off so taken a quick glance at some categories.

So my media for this pick will be an homage to Lamar.

This was probably the hardest pick I have had all draft. There were about 3 other guys I was deciding between. It all came down to need, category scarcity, and the fact that this guy could easily be a starter for me(and just might be).

Terry Cummings, 82-83, Forgotten Cities

This also happens to be his rookie year. And he set his career high in points, rebounds, and steals. He averaged a cool 24/11/3/2/1 on 52.3% shooting and was rookie of the year.

He's a power forward that can still stretch the floor even though he didn't shoot threes. At 6'9'' he could handle the ball on the wing and was deadly from midrange, even off the dribble. If defenders tried to press up on him, he could rip through and blow past them with his athleticism to the hoop.

Here is Cummings going coast to coast showing his athleticism and ability to control the basketball.

In my big men I have wanted versatility. Guys that bring different things to the table, but can still be cohesive. I think I have continued that trend with Cummings here. He can take the ball on the wing and shoot and still come inside and finish down low. He can mold and mesh with the other bigs I already have on the team. And depending on matchups with he and Rodman we can figure out a starting rotation. Yeah Cummings was a top draft pick, but as a rookie he can maybe be convinced that he shouldn't start over two hall of famers.

The one piece of evidence that caused me pause on this pick.

I can't have teammates fighting. But with high character guys all around this team and more to add I think we can settle the beef between Cummings and Rodman.

Not every day you can get a 24 and 11 guy in the 7th round, and also possibly a starter. I'll take it.

Just fyi, I'm going to be on the road a bit this weekend so might be slow getting picks in. Will try to send a few in advance to fatlever.
