his playoffs were all that productive. he was solid. he had a solid game 3/4, but had an awful game 6. and overall his 12/2/2 on 54 TS% 14 PER really wanst any more productive then his season with the knicks(better raw stats with NY, even PER36 with basically the same efficiency).
i think Lins game 3/4 outburst kind of overshadowed his less then stellar play the other 5 games of that series
id be thrilled with the knicks version of lin.... 19/8/4 PER36 on 54 TS%. i want him to be super aggressive. we dont have anyone who can create offense off the dribble and really no offense outside brook. id rather a lin who maybe turns it over a bit but creates more offense over an inconsistent lin who is deferring more.
Lin did appears performed better in game 3,4 since he scored a lot, and feels he is dominating. That has a lot to do with how Heat was playing Hornets.
In the first two games, Heats focus to eliminate Hornets' 3pt game, Hornets was not dealing it well, even though Lin was okay, he scored pretty easily but he don't have much ball touches. Then Batum was hurt, thus Lin got a lot more touches in game 3 and 4, and his penetration game really was what Heat give them, thus Lin looked really great in those two games.
In game 5, Heat adjusted, and they spend effort to stop Lin and Kemba's driving, they would double team them, thus Lin got less scoring, but he was still very effective by passing, and get assists. On the other hand, his touches dropped also due to Batum came back.
I should also emphasis on Lin rolled his ankle in game 5, he finished that game, but sure would impact his game 6.
In game 6, Batum is back to start, play longer time, and Hornets goes away from their penetration game, and went back to their old style try to take more 3s. On the other hand, Lin's rolled ankle did not help, and he get into foul trouble that he got 5 fouls, so his play time also got limited. Though we could argue that Lin could still be back to play with 5 fouls, but apparently Clifford don't think that way.
If you look at the stat sheet, yeah, in a vacuum, it looks like Lin didn't play as well in game 5 and 6, but I think you could not disregards other conditions. On the other hand, one could also say Lin benefited in game 3 and 4 from Heat's strategy.
