So, what - he's going to sign with a team with vastly less chance of a title, for less money, just to spite the Cavs? That would be the mother of all cut-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face moves.
If no one else is offering him more than the Cavs have, they have no reason not to sit tight and wait him out.
Who says this is the case? Where is there proof Philly hasn't offered 3 for 45m or something? How is everyone so certain of this? How do we know that he doesn't have big money offers that he's taking into the cavs FO and saying "listen I wanna play here I just won a title here, lebron's my boy, I wanna stay but these gives are giving me 15m and the ONLY thing it costs you is the money, there's 0 opportunity cost or reason not to pay me beyond Dan Gilbert being a stingy *** so just give me my money or I will walk to a crappy team and make the money I deserve."
I'm not certain. I am absolutely assuming.
But, if your scenario were the case, I strongly expect he'd have been signed by the Cavs by now, because you are correct that it wouldn't make a heck of a lot of sense for them to be stingy and play with fire at that point.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what comes out.

Others may have, but I've never said that, and never thought that. He "deserves" what the market will pay him. That was the entire point of my first post, nothing more.
damecurry wrote:And even if it's not, even if all he can do is get a 1 year 10m deal from someone like philly now then go back on the market next year, you think he wouldn't do that to spite a FO that he feels is totally disrespecting him?
Would you do that? I sure as heck wouldn't. And, I definitely wouldn't feel "disrespected" just because my team wouldn't pay me 50% more than anyone else was offering.
