Who is Holmes? Richaun Holmes?
Yes.
Well you're thinking outside the box, I'll give you credit for that.
But...
1) You're trading for a 23 year old who is already in the league, not a one-and-done teenager. I can see him being a useful rotational player. But it's a big projection to trade a 1st for a guy who was a low pick a year ago and hasn't actually done much in the league.
2) I'm not sure if a power forward solves the team's issues defensively. He's a good shot blocker becuase of his length but he's not a banger. He's not much of a rebounder. Is that what we really need next to Horford?
EDIT: I see you refer to him as a center, maybe I'm uninformed but I'm under the impression that while he's a center it's more in a shot blocking sense than in terms of having the bulk to push around and corral rebounds. So is he the right kind of center?
Seems like his upside is a younger version of Amir. Now, getting that for the package you suggest would be a coup. But there's a strong possibility he doesn't reach that upside, and I don't think that package is worth the
chance of him turning into a young Amir.
It is outside the box though.
