Wait em out, we aren't in a hurry. Nobody ever gets equal value for stars. We might even be able to sign the beast out right.

Teams don't quite understand the principles of leverage just yet. Boogie is a cancer to most teams. The ones that would roll the dice have absolutely nothing to offer. DA holds all the cards and he's not the charitable type.

BKN 18/Crowder/Zeller for Cousins I'd do.. But Demarcus is a risk, and if they're waiting to trade him until the team struggles, that lowers his value. That '18 could be Ayton..

Yeah, ATL cut him because they don't have a D-League affiliate. Celtics will cut him on Monday and have his affiliate rights (he's basically taking the spot they hoped to convince Bentil to take).

Woj says we're trying to get a 2nd for Young or Hunter.. One's going to get cut, hope it's not Young..

Can't believe we didn't trade Zeller and Young for Curry instead.

It's just that losing one of Young or Hunter for nothing, or a 2nd, is a tough blow. They've gotta keep Young, IMO- Hunter is a really interesting prospect as a late 1st, with size and real shooting ability, but Young is younger and probably has more upside. Hunter is a Stevens guy, though.

I'm the opposite. I can't see Young ever being more than an 8th or 9th man off the bench.
I could see RJ being a 6th man on a good team, perhaps even a starter one day. Just has a more complete game. Needs to put on size and strength, but his awareness on both ends of the floor is just much better than Young to me.

Young has surprised me in these last few pre season games but he is just missing 'it'. Too blase, casual and not enough fire. Jogs up and down the court. Stands still when he doesn't have the ball. Telegraphs his passes. Can only go left. But that's just me.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

A little birdie the other day told me that Klay is already not too thrilled with the new Warriors dynamic....I was told that this was a Draymond/Curry motive to get Durant in and now that he is in GS, Klay is feeling like an underappreciated star.. they aren't dealing Klay this season, but this is a situation to monitor over the next 12 months.

Klay will likely want his own situation and a fresh start once this season is over. Wolves could be a great fit.....Boston too. Just saying for next year

Like I've said, all those guys aren't going to get the playing time that they want.
I figured that Durant would end up not liking the reduction in stats. But then again, obviously all of them are gonna feel the reduction.

If a guy's more interested in getting his shots up than trying to adjust his game to better fit one of the (on paper) greatest teams of all-time I'm not sure I have that much interest in him.

If he ever does become available, add him to the list of "go all in for" stars. I'm sure it would cost a ton to get him, but at 26 years old as a top 5 shooter in the league with defense to match it's a no brainer.

Just add a gag order for his dad the next time he signs a contract. :D

Thats a starplayer i'd give up the farm for, a legit go to scorer who also plays D.

You can easily look at it the other way though. We're killing Durant for wanting to win 'easy'. What if Klay is the opposite - isn't totally feeling the anti-competitive superteam - and would rather go elsewhere and take on that superteam?

Don't think we have anywhere near enough info to conclude either - I'm just sayin'...

Bradley/2017 BRK pick would be a good starting point... good fit for both teams, hypothetically could we then sign Griffin in the offseason ?

Interesting since the Strauss article mentioned some definite Thompson/Green strain, but Green has always been mentioned as a primary driver in getting a Durant there. So that all fits.

Other important note is that Curry and Durant will end up close to doubling Thompson's salary by next summer, when he will be wildly underpaid. I could see him wanting to get traded somewhere with cap space for an eventual massive extension, which sound set to be more player favorable very shortly.

Next summer would be the ideal time. They could trade an extended Bradley, Crowder and a BRK pick and since Thompson wouldn't be extension eligible, they'd be pretty close to the same cap space now in terms of pursuing a max FA.

Only issue with that is if they signed someone it could be hard to do an extension the following year, but maybe those rules change.
