Offensively it did, guys were stuck in mud trying to read the defense and make the proper cuts.
Phil wants the triangle to be more reaction based but in reality if we're going to run stuff from it then it should be rehearsed sets so guys can just move and not think.
Example, Melo caught the ball at the wing and the post and top guard were denied so KP is supposed to flash to the high post with Lee going back door while the pass is in this air while Melo down screens for Rose who would then have the option of running the too man game with KP and Lee/Melo in the corners spacing the floor.
But KP was late to flash and Melo ends up going one on one. Now he scored but not in the way the offense designed it.
If Hornacek just makes those reads a set rather than having the players have to figure it out then we'd see more motion and get better shots.
The triangle killed us big time tonight. In my opinion.
You point out one play as if that one play cost us the game. As far as it goes, there is nothing complicated about that play. That is a very basic play. What exactly made that play so difficult to execute? The Cavs brought championship level defense to a team that is still in the early stage of developing cohesion and chemistry.
The "sky is falling" crowd totally ignores that fact. We're a new team facing a CHAMPIONSHIP team with the FIRST game ALL our starters even played together. Get a grip & give the team some time to grow & improve!
We gotta know we are dealing with Knicks fans. They've been bettered way to much to have any faith left, all it takes is one game and all hope is shattered
The funniest part is dudes are talking about lets tank for kids who have not even played 1 NCAA game yet but are the saviors of the franchise

The more things change the more they stay the same
It feels great to have the NBA season back
