In your head, yes, this is true.
But out here in reality land, you're wrong.
In reality, you're in the minority if you think Trump and his campaign wasn't built on that.
Why do you think so many people are grieving and reacting the way they are today? It's not because Hillary was some awesome candidate that was robbed of presidency.
His campaign was built on making promises to disaffected blue collar workers who had largely voted for democrats in the past. The people who got flipped in this election were people who voted for Obama the last time. Unless Obama isn't actually black, its hard to call them racist.
Were there racists who voted for Trump? Of course. However, those same racists likely voted for Romney the last time and McCain before him. The republican party has a rather large sub group of racists that support them. Donald Trump didn't create the racists. They were always there.
Racists are always going to vote. I mean, they are citizens of this country after all. But the difference is that Romney and McCain did not appeal or build their campaign around racism. Trump didn't create the racists, but he cashed in like hell on them.
If Trump ran a campaign of decency, you would not be seeing the reaction of today. The story would simply just be about the stunner of Trump being an inexperienced politician who pulled off one of the biggest upsets ever. Instead, it's about a racist, xenophobic buffoon who has alienated minorities, harassed women and will soon be the leader of our country.
