Back in the Gabriel days we were hoping for Grant Hill back. In the Otis Smith days we were hoping Dwights back would be ok or Rashard's ankle was healthy.
Now we are praying for the return of a NBA journeyman. If this doesn't sum up Hennigan's destruction of the Orlando Magic, nothing else can.
All on hennigan. ALL OF IT. You can only blame coaching so much. 4 coaches later and the team still blows. Ownership has shown willingness to spend money. It's all Hennigan. Hopefully when he goes, so will his cronies.
I think Martins deserves blame too but I'll admit I don't really know how much influence he has over the basketball decisions. If he has absolutely zero input then sure it's all on Hennigan but if not then certainly he deserves blame as well.
Martins made the decision to hire Hennigan over more experienced candidates but he chose Hennigan because Henny was the best candidiate:

"We felt that Rob set himself apart from the other finalists with his vision, with his approach towards process and procedure, his detailed plan for building a successful basketball operation and a strong focus on innovation in so many parts of the basketball operation," Martins said.
"Whether it's a holistic approach towards player development or the utilization of analytics in the decision-making process of player personnel, Rob brings a great deal of innovation to the role. And we feel that it will allow us to build a basketball operation that will be sustainable in its success for a long period of time."
