We then have Gortat, chandler coming off the bench that helps out our bench a **** ton.
If we traded Beal for Cousins, that would require a whole series of follow-up moves to balance the roster. Yes, Gortat for Chandler plus Barton would make sense in that scenario.
Why do you and a lot of people want to move gortat over mahinmi? I see gortat as the better player, and hes on a better contract. Why not keep gortat and tell him look we want to win you are coming off the bench. play hard and lets go win games.
Gortat has more trade value because he's got a cheaper contract. I don't think Denver would trade Chandler and Barton for Mahinmi. (Indeed, I don't think Denver trades for a big man at all because they have two of them in Jokic and Nurkic.)
Also, I think, chemistry-wise, it would be hard for Gortat to adapt to a bench role. It would also be redundant because Gortat, like Cousins, is a more offensive minded player. I think Mahinmi is a better complement to Cousins because he brings something to the table that Cousins cannot (defense).
