horrible deal. You sent three valable pieces away and just get back one with two negative pieces

One? LaVine and Beverley are both valuable. Beverley is on an incredibly favorable deal and fits perfectly next to Simmons.

I would do Jah/Noel + lal 1st for Lavine
I wouldn't do Jah/Noel for Beverly plus two garbage.
And Beverley is a little bit old for our core Im sure we may likely pick a young player as good as Beverley by using that lal 1st.

Beverley still probably has 4-5 prime years left and his game should age fairly well. I'd do Okafor for Beverley in a heartbeat.

Yeah, that's a bad characterization. You're overrating Okafor and underrating Beverley.
Also, the winner of a trade gets the best player. While it's possible the Laker pick yields that player, I'd take my chances that LaVine is the best player in this deal.
With all that being said, maybe you can get Minny to take back Brewer, or add the OKC 1st and they keep Pekovic.

POR is desperate for defense. Harkless can be a good defensive player and he's shooting 39% from 3s.

I love Lavine but the gap between Lavine/Beverley/Noel/Jah doesn't worth lal pick and absorbing two garbage.

He had a career year from 3 last year, so I'd expect that to come back closer to his career averages (which are still good, just not elite). He's "point guard" without ball skills. If the plan is to put 100% of the playmaking on Simmons, he's a solid fit, but I don't think they want to put that kind of pressure on him immediately.
I'm as down on Okafor as the next guy, but I still think we can trick some GM into giving us something decent for him.
Oh, and I particularly don't like the idea of acquiring both of those guys together since I'd want them to play the same position as off the ball guys that play the 1 defensively.

We need a starting guard. We already have Bayless. We don't need middling veterans.
I've said all along for Okafor I want the possibility to acquire a top prospect or young player. That doesn't appear to be happening after his struggles this season. Can't trade him at this point we'd be getting pennies on the dollar.
