I just have no clue why he decided to play for them, no one is going to watch their games, wont make the tournament and unlike last year with Simmons who kept getting a ton of attention because of how weak that draft was. This draft is so deep people are going to talk about the guys who are on major teams or are winning. Choosing Washington is such a puzzling decision in my opinion.
Loyalty plain and simple. First and only team to recruit him before the buzz. He stayed loyal. Speaks to his character I think.
If its just out of loyalty I can respect that but just looking at it as a business move it was really dumb. I wont be surprised if his name gets kinda lost throughout the season, now of course it wont get lost with NBA GMs but he definitely wont be the most talked about prospect in the draft. And that popularity difference can equate to a lot of money when it comes to endorsements and stuff like that.
I just wish we couldve seen him with an actual team. I wanted to see how he would play with not being option 1,2 and 3. Ive seen him do it on the international level just wanted to see him do it on the college level. Its almost just a lost season for me when it comes to Fultz. Im not going to get impressed with his huge raw numbers because hes the only guy and I wont get down on him for bad numbers for the same reason.
I just like seeing guys like Jackson, Monk, Bam, Fox, Ball, Tatum, Frank, Isaac and Markkanen actually showing what they can do in a team system. Fultz and DSJ are both in situations where its basically like the coach rolling the ball out to them and just saying, youre our only hope, you do you. You just cant really get a great read on a guy in a situation like that. There are only 2 guys in the NBA like that with Westbrook and Harden. These guys are going to be asked to actually play in a system revolving around a team next year. Just sucks seeing 2 of the top prospects being wasted on such terrible teams.
