He's awesome and if you don't know just say so and do some research.

He's been really good lately.

He was really good last year, but for some reason Nuggets decided to bring him off the bench this year.

Initially they tried going twin towers and they played him at the 4 with Nurk at the 5. It didn't workout, possibly for a lot of reasons.

Jokic volunteered to come off the bench behind Nurk for a while but then his awesomeness was undeniable. Malone moved him into the starting lineup at the 5 not too long ago.

And you will likely need another better player on that team, guard/wing perimeter player to get Jokic be really effective player. Towns, Zingis and Embiid all have special talent for instance to be 1st options. I dont see Jokic being that ever if you want to see team going anywhere.

Denver runs their entire offense through him now. He's definitely 1st option good. He doesn't just put up numbers he's efficient and is a phenomenal passer.

He's ridonkulous.

I know they do. I watched Nuggets against Kings other night. Guy has some balls to head to head with Cousins. I like him, I would want to have him, but not to extent of giving Jimmy away. If he is available for "right price" sure.

I can accept that from someone that has watched him play.

Initially I included Murray and both their 1sts.

i know that some people are only satisfied with championships and think a roster that seems destined to fall short of that should be scrapped immediately to tank for a True Star

but man, if a player as good as jimmy butler in the prime of his career isn't worth trying to build a team around while you've got him under a value contract for a couple more seasons, i think you've lost the thread. you can draft at the top of the lottery for a looooong time before you get a player of that caliber.

the bulls trading him away for an offer that doesn't knock everybody off of their asses is silly. the bulls trading him away with the current decision-makers leading the effort to rebuild is unimaginable

The Bulls chose Gar over a great coach (Thibs). Now it appears they will choose Gar over a great player.

Not really. The rumored price for him was pretty absurd around the draft. We also like Avery Bradley a lot too. Jimmy would certainly be an upgrade but he isn't enough alone to get us into top tier.

If it's something like Bradley and one of the Brooklyn picks plus lesser assets for him sure. Then we still have enough to try and make a trade for cousins. But if it's both Brooklyn picks plus multiple core players. Then I don't think we find a deal.

My goodness...I know Boston has more assets than most playoff teams. But, other teams especially a team in a big city like Chicago is not your farm system however incompetent the Bulls FO might be. The Bulls, Knicks do not lose star players easily even when they are incompetent. Those players know other than the big market extra dollars, there is a good chance of attracting other good players unlike a Sacramento. They will stick around until the very end unless the team decides to dump them or some other rift happens.

About Sacramento type teams....they are also smarter now to not give away a Cousins for assets left over after a Butler type trade. They are angling for a playoff run and Vivek has money up the wazoo to spend. The worst thing about a bad FO like that is ...once they know they have a good player in hand, they will squeeze every ounce of your juice.

Bradley is a nice player but if it is just Bradley and a pick/useless assets, I am sure the Bulls are not trading Butler or Sacramento is trading Cousins. If the Bulls are trading Butler or Kings are trading Cousins, I would think Boston has to lose multiple picks almost similar to how much Brooklyn gave Boston. And, Butler/Cousins are in their prime/far superior players at this point to what Brooklyn got from Boston. The market will dictate that the quality of Butler/Cousins is far more important that multiple 18 year olds.

That's fair. I'm not saying you should trade us Butler.

Just that Cousins is the guy that we will pay market price for. The upgrade from Amir Johnson to Cousins is a much bigger upgrade than Bradley or Crowder to Butler.

I don't think anyone gets anything done until the offseason, once we know where the Brooklyn pick lands.

imagine having the mindset that a team with a roster like boston's should be able to get two top-20 players without giving up their best player

Why trade him now all of a sudden? Did they really think we would be #2 or #3 in the east.....

This was something rumored (for whatever that's worth) around draft time when Dunn fell. I think it's a strong package that doesn't include picks, ultimately...a very nice return of young talent still in the process of establishing itself. I don't really know what the Bulls are looking for, teams always value picks...even though all three Wolves were lotto picks.

It makes sense for the Bulls....getting young talent, starting fresh with cheap deals. And the Wolves add the prime vet they need to add to KAT and a flourishing Lavine.

As an observer in this exchange, I'd love to see this play out. Someone sig it or something. I'm going to forget.

Cousins has major attitude concerns and is a UFA after next season. Obviously his position is a better fit for the Celtics roster, but I still don't think they're on the same level, value wise. Kings management seem pretty keen on riding or dying with him as well.

If Boston want to go all in, we could always swing them Lopez, Taj or Mirotic in the deal, and/or they could always go for someone like Millsap or Favors to go next to Horford.

So, for fun, let's revisit the 2014 draft, where we were supposed to spurt into a cup because it was an all-time great. As they are talking about the current draft.

Wiggins - Meh
Parker - Looking good
Embiid - Looking very good
Aaron Gordon - Meh. Jumps well.
Exum - Garbage
Smart - Rotation role player
Randle - Looking like he will be very good
Staukas - OMG
Vonleh - Ditto
Elfrid Payton - Not so bad.

Throw them in a bag, Jimmy is worth 5 of those guys. So that's my offer - Butler for five Top Ten draft picks.

A couple of thoughts from a Celtics fan:

1. I still don't believe Jimmy Butler is going anywhere. I mean Ric Bucher. The next time Bucher is right about anything will be his first time.

2. If the Bulls trade Butler it means the Bulls are rebuilding. Why would the Bulls trade Butler at $18 million to get Bradley who is probably going to make $20+ million in a little over a year? I'm guessing the Bulls would have interest in Brown and both Brooklyn picks, maybe Smart.

Bulls would probably make the Celtics take Lopez or Rondo.

Any thoughts?
