Yeah Jimmy is really covering up what is a bad,
bad team.
Something really being overlooked because of Jimmy is that Dwyane Wade after his hot start to the season is basically turning into the shooting guard version of Derrick Rose. His TS% last month was .502. And he's signed for another year at $24million.
As of now:
Bulls offensive rating: 104.5 (18th)
Butler on: 107 (would be 9th best)
Butler off: 96.4 (would be 30th, considerably worse than the Sixers at 98.6)
Bulls defensive rating: 104.4 (12th)
Butler on: 103.3 (would be 5th best)
Butler off: 108.2 (would be 26th)
So yes, Butler is covering up what without him would be a bottom 3 team. He's been amazing this season.
