That's a serious overpay.

No f'n way.
These Imo would be the only prospects off the table I like Morrow and think hes part of the future here. Clement Man this guy could be something real special and worst case he's Varitek in the making we made that mistake once upon a time. I would love the D-train but not at the cost of Clement or Morrow.

I'd trade Morrow in a second for the right deal. God only knows if that guy's ever going to learn how to pitch. For a guy out of college, he has zero command of his pitches.

I dont want to trade Adam Jones for anything.

I remember when JJ Putz had zero command and he turned out alright. Give Morrow a chance.

I would rather keep building this team to compete year in and year out then trade good people for risky players.

Well, given Bavasi's response to the Marlins GM, maybe we won't be getting Willis now. :D

Well, the end of 150 years of professional baseball was set in motion Friday. It's all over.

At least that's the view of Florida Marlins president David Samson, who this week said of Ichiro Suzuki's extension with the Mariners: "It'll take the sport down, that contract." He also called it "the end of the world as we know it.

"It doesn't look like baseball's king of hyperbole will be getting a Christmas card from Mariners general manager Bill Bavasi. As for any thoughts of Seattle acquiring Dontrelle Willis for the stretch run, you can probably scratch that, too.

"My mother always taught me that if the only thing you have to say is, '(Expletive) Dave Samson,' then don't say anything at all," Bavasi said Thursday. "So I'm not going to say anything at all. Is my mother the greatest or what?"

You got to love Bavasi and his precociousness. Bless the man.

That quote actually improved my opinion of Bavasi a whole lot. Not enough that I want to keep him as GM, but a lot. Anyway, if Dave Samson wants to criticize a contract as the "end of the world," why not take aim at Barry Zito? At least Ichiro is an all-star.
