PER is generally an offensive metric that rewards volume shooters with decent efficiency, and doesn't even pretend to be an accurate indicator of defensive value or impact on the floor. Thus why Kanter has a significantly higher PER than Gobert, Marc Gasol, Horford, etc.
Joest2003 wrote:MKG is almost last and even behind Hawes and Hibbert. HIBBERT!!. he shoots a overall worse fg% than Lamb and a putrid 14% from the 3. Someone with those stats does not deserved to be praised while you claim Lamb has a negative trade value.
Again, it's defense. You can't compare Lamb and MKG as a defender, even if you think MKG is not as good as advertised.
Joest2003 wrote:How you can even try to justify that is beyond me. Sure you can say MKG is better and even that is a debate worth being had but when you try to praise MKG and make Lamb seem like a scrub that's just not realistic
Lamb was acquired for a throw away late 2nd round pick, and since then he was given a contract that requires him to be paid $15M over the next two seasons while at the same time his 3PT% has tanked. I really don't know what the market makes of Lamb, curious what the trade board would say about that, but it wouldn't surprise me if they don't view him as having positive trade value. Is it possible they can look at his positives and find real value there? Sure, I'm just not sure that's what will happen.
No one is calling Lamb a scrub, we're just talking about trade value in a void for non-Charlotte fans.
