Paul Zipser leapfrogged over two lottery picks (McDermott/Valentine) to become a starter for a few games. He's ahead of them in the rotation too. Stay woke.

Hoiberg has been changing his rotation on a game to game basis.

Guys certainly fell in this draft, but for the most part I just don't agree with the reasoning on this.

I'm not sure what makes guys like Thon, Papagiannis, and Yabusele poor picks at their position when the guys you mentioned haven't really done much to make them worthy of their projections to this point. With that being said, the draft was primed for this. The consensus seemed to be that were 5-7 top guys and the next 20-25 guys were all kind of clustered on this same tier, which is why you see such dramatic differences in projection vs. draft position.

As far as Murray, I know MKE liked him quite a bit though I wasn't a fan at all. Thin, poor shooter, poor decision making, inflated numbers on the fastest paced team in basketball, score first. Those things don't particularly stand out to me as traits of a "winning player." Davis had red flags surrounding his overall work ethic.

It's far too early to say if anyone's proved anything one way or another, but those sort of moves were head scratchers from the moment they were made, and no red flags emerged to suggest certain players falling was somehow logical.

D.Davis, for instance, has great size, length, athleticism and potential as a rim protector as a C. How does that slip to the 2nd round?

He has had several good outings vs Denver,Cleveland and Toronto, but no one has tape of him. He has a nice floater, can move off the ball quite well, but his shooting and basketball IQ leaves alot to be desired.

He reminds me of Jamal Crawford and plays a very unspursy type game and sometimes you need that in order to break the mold of the same old same old.

Like in the second half vs Virginia.

Excellent decision-making for a rookie, which is kinda opposite to what we saw in Syracuse, though more space and not being focused on by defense helps a lot. Competed on defense, both chasing guys and getting deflections.

Don't get me wrong, I see it. Davis was actually the guy I wanted at 10. With that being said, if I were a GM and a guy like Izzo came out and said this about a prospect I liked in April:

“It was treat to coach this kid. He was a good kid,” Izzo said. “He learned to work harder – he doesn’t work hard enough, but he’s learning to work harder. He made some progress.”

I'd be doing more digging and I'd put it to the test. You can have all the tools in the world, but if you're not willing to really hone your craft, all they are is tools. Given where he was projected vs where he eventually went and worked out, I'd say a lot of teams got the exact same impression Izzo did. Definite red flag.

It seems like he's done well when given a chance (which hasn't been that much this season).

Zubac has played over 20 minutes 3 times now in his rookie year, and has a double-double in each of the games.

Who will make the All Rookie 1st Team?
