plenty of folk but, thanks for you insightful post. You've dazzled me with your analysis of the situation.
Well, here's the thing. Neither you nor I know what goes through KP's head, and given only a year and a half of data, combined with him idolizing Melo growing up, it's natural that he would defer to Melo as the primary option on the team. Combine that with him not being able to reliably create his own shot, and we see why he's second. Finally, we have a few games where KP played without Melo, and he did just fine as the first option, but the rest of the team around him was nowhere near good enough for him to win.
Ergo, only time will tell if KP has the fire and assertiveness.
Better?
we got our ass handed to us every time Melo missed a game and it became painfully aparant that this team has no chance of winning without him. He had a few decent games without Melo but, not great and showed he can't carry us as a number 1. So, you guys want to get rid of the one guy that gives us a chance.
Its not Melo's fault the team went away from the ball movement, the passing and cutting that works well early on. Until that time, this board was far from divided. That's when the nosedive began and it's not on Melo. When he iso's, he'll pass as its was mentioned early in this thread but, guys stopped moving and cutting and just started watching him. That's on the coaching staff.
Wow, its almost as if the team is built around Melo, Melo's the best player, and Melo is the key to winning
Take the best player off any other mediocre team and they suck too, doesn't mean KP won't become an alpha
