Very cousins like box score
Very all star game and Olympics worthy player.
You haters make my years of being right about this even more satisfying.
Do I understand that Cousins had a good game? Two good games in a row?
How about his numbers on the season?
He's a terrific defensive rebounder this year, as he usually is, but a below-average offensive rebounder. Overall, his rebounding is down @10% from his average. If you look at the combination of rebounds, steals & turnovers, Cousins is just slightly better overall than the average of all NBA bigs.
His TS% this year is 56.3% -- that's up from his career average of 53.1%. The average of all NBA bigs is at 54.5%. So this year unlike most years, he's a more efficient scorer than an average NBA big.
Cousins gets @ 10% more blocks than an average NBA big; as well he commits about 10% more fouls. Where he is definitely superior is in assists -- he gets more than twice the assists of an average NBA big.
The result of all this is that overall this year, he has a slightly greater positive effect on team wins than an average NBA big. Emphasis on the word "slightly."
As they say the proof is in the pudding, & so far this year, led by DeMarcus Cousins the Kings are 20-31. That's 1.5 games better than the Philadelphia 76ers and not as good as the Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, & New York Knicks -- to mention just a few of the bad NBA teams that are better than the Kings.
Every year, Sacramento changes the guys around Cousins, & every year the team is bad. I wonder at what point people will understood that, far from being a monster, DeMarcus Cousins -- for all his tremendous talent -- is simply not all that good an NBA player? I guess it'll take him moving to another team & showing the same....
