That last Batum dunk was all because Lopez went with Frank to the 3pt line leaving the lane open. Next play, Lopez cheats off Frank and Frank makes a 3. Next play, Lopez closes hard, Frank blows past him into the lane, then gets blocked. He also sealed off his man freeing up Kemba (i think) on a basket. 4-5 plays where Frank impacts offense in a positive, but then the weak finish in the lane. He's getting there.
Really well said.
Yes, I think we all collectively want to punch ourselves in the face when he misses an uncontested runner or put back in the lane, but you can see how effective he is even with those flaws. Fix those issues and he's going to be really, really good for us.
I think his biggest problem is he's still getting used to contact. When he misses those shots I think he's so worried about contact coming (even when he's wide open) that he doesn't pay attention to where he's putting the ball.
I was surprised at how effective he was against Lopez in the paint. Maybe I shouldn't be because he's fundamentally sound and it's more so guys with crazy strength or athleticism that give him trouble.
