Anyone thinking that Oakley was representing Knicks fans, or upset because of the dismal state of the franchise, in his actions at the Garden last night has it wrong. Oakley's beef is strictly personal with Dolan.

It has nothing to do with the Knicks, or him having love for us as Knicks fans, or loving the franchise. It is 100% about how Dolan's paranoia, pettiness, and incompetence has impacted Oakley's life and deprived him of the attention/accolades/respect he so desperately wants.

No ****, sherlock, but Dolan's paranoia pettiness, and incompetence is also a big reason why the team still sucks. It's all related. He treats legends like **** and heckles his best player on the court. No excuse for that. Oak standing up to him is personal, yes, but it's also in defense of Melo.

If it is true that Oakley said nothing and Dolan had him kicked out for nothing, then that is wrong. Still, there are other ways to resolve the situation without resorting to violence. This isn't on the basketball court.

While I'm still a big fan of Oak the basketball player, he has a reputation for acting foul and getting into altercations with regular people when he's not getting his way. He got into it with security of the Aria Hotel several years ago and received a send off to a hospital. This article here details several other incidents.

I still feel conflicted about this. I know Dolan is at the base of the problem,but that doesn't excuse Oak from doing what he did. Let's play what if. What if you were the security person that he hit in the face or pushed? How would you feel?

He's not the voice of reason. He's the voice you want to listen to because the voices in your head tell you the Knicks are always right and everyone else is wrong.

Nobody is saying what Oakley did was right. The issue is that the events leading up to this one were unjust and Oakley treated like a criminal (aka banishment from games and Solan refusing to speak with him) for simply criticizing the past regimes and Dolan himself is pathetic. But I'm not surprised you're in here defending him.

Hey man, I loved Oak the player but he's been bitter ever since he got traded. Harshed the organization for years. I don't like Dolan either but he has a bunch of ex Knicks working for the org and they have looked to show love for a lot of former players. In an arena the size of MSG, do you really think it's a coincidence that Oak ended up with seats 20 feet away from Dolan? He wanted to be as close as possible and wanted to let Dolan know he was there and still unhappy. This never happens if he's on the other side of the court. Not the way for a 50+ yr old grown man to get his point across.

Once security was involved... obviously Oak is in the wrong to retaliate. I wouldn't do what he did. I wouldn't recommend anyone do what he did. You get what's coming from there and you deserve it.
