It has nothing to do with the Knicks, or him having love for us as Knicks fans, or loving the franchise. It is 100% about how Dolan's paranoia, pettiness, and incompetence has impacted Oakley's life and deprived him of the attention/accolades/respect he so desperately wants.
No ****, sherlock, but Dolan's paranoia pettiness, and incompetence is also a big reason why the team still sucks. It's all related. He treats legends like **** and heckles his best player on the court. No excuse for that. Oak standing up to him is personal, yes, but it's also in defense of Melo.
