I'm five episodes in and debating whether i should finish the season and then watch season two when it comes out.
The premise of the show is interesting and Giovanni Ribisi is good in his role, but the writing/plot so far is really lacking to me. To many things happen which either makes no sense or seriously stretch credibility. It kinda feels like i'm watching a TV series version of the movie Rounders with Worm/Ed Norton as the main character, minus the great writing.
For those who have seen the show, does it get better the second half of the first season?
I definitely think it gets better the longer it goes and the more the stakes are raised for literally every single character.
But you're dead on with the Rounders thing.
That's an obvious influence here, along with classic heist/scam films I won't mention. To be honest, I barely remember the first half of the season. I only really remember the last three or so. It ends with a bang.

So i finished Sneaky Pete and clearly the classic heist/scam film influence was Ocean's Eleven. The finish was ok, but i just didn't dig the show as most reviews on IMD and others here.
Part of the problem maybe is that i'm to analytical when it comes to most movies and TV shows. I regularly find my self questioning shows/movies thinking this or that makes no sense or is to unrealistic.
For Sneaky Pete, the Giovanni Ribisi character needed about 10-15 things to all work out perfectly for his scam to work. That kind of stuff bothers me more than most people who watch shows or movies. It's why i rarely can enjoy the majority of action movies. I always find myself thinking, the main character should have died 5-6 times already and i then just tune out even though i understand that's the point of those type of movies.
