And we get back Jimmy Butler (who hey, I am all about getting , woohoo, Jimmy Butler. ... ) but we ALSO take back Asik & AND* the biggest current team-killer and locker-room wrecker in the NBA, Rondo. And we're supposed to "waive" Rondo and just eat Asik's contract.
I have been on this forum a long, long time. Please take my word for it when I say, in the old-school terms we used to use so dearly, this is the: Worst. Trade. Ever.
P.S.
Jimmy Butler? Oh yeah, I say we get the mothasucka. Okafor, Illyasova, Covington, and a future-first-round pick (like Sac's 2019 1st-rd owed to us?) for Jimmy Butler? Absolutely. And I think Chicago would be much more amenable to this than people would be willing to admit at first. They're having some of the most serious team chemistry, locker-room, and game on-court problems in the NBA right now, and *THEIR* big names are having the same stock problems we're having. So please don't give me the "Jimmy Butler is worth LeBron and Kevin Love or everyone on the Lakers & Celtics combined!!" nonsense.
But this trade? Okafor, AND Noel, AND a (potentially very high) lottery pick... for Butler, a terrible contract we have to eat and a bad contract we have to waive? C'mon now. We used to say 10 years+ ago on this forum, come correct or don't come at all.
I think the trade is pretty reasonable.
Yours is not though. If the Bulls move Butler, they're rebuilding. If they're rebuilding, it makes zero sense to acquire Ilyasova (and possibly Covington).
