No, it's because he is one of the worst defenders in the league and although people think he is great offensively, he shoots 42% and 35% from 3. As you can see on the chart, he still rates on the slight positive offensively, which is slightly ahead of the pack (left to right)...with Jokic and Towns WAY out ahead, but he is by FAR the worst defender as a sophomore, where most are right around average...Myles Turner at the top there.

Come on, it obviously has big correlation with the quality of your team. You don't defend by yourself.

No, I don't think it has that big of correlation. He is not THAT far behind everyone else defensively because of the team. I am not sure the measure he uses for DPS (defensive poinst saved) but our players are all over that chart when you look at just the Suns chart. There are other terrible defensive teams and no one is near that low. I mean you look at DRPM, Booker is near the bottom...not all Suns are.

As long as he is a quality offensive player and can carry the team offensively, we can build the team around him with defensive guys. Leadership, work ethic, winner mentality is more important.

He may be closer to his initial comparison of Bradley Beal than we thought.

I'll look into how the stat was made. I just find singling out defensive stats so hard.

I don't think it's that big of an issue right now, as he has A LOT of time and guys will take time improving their weaknesses. If you surrround him with the right players, or just build a team to obliterate others offensively with decent defense, we can be ok. But right now, we have no real defense on the team outside of Tucker. Bledsoe and our centers are ok outside of him and that's it. Bender looks like he will be solid in time though.

Probably just because Calipari coached him in Memphis before going to Kentucky.

Well. We know that Devin Booker is 6' 7" because that doorway at the 5:30 mark is 6' 8".

I wonder if they give him an extended look at SF along side bledsoe and knight these last 25 games. Partly because i wonder if he would be better defensively against 3s and also to see if you do happen to draft a pg this summer could that player work playing with booker and bledsoe or do you need to trade Bledsoe.
