Very polarized player here, imo. For every 4 games, he played very well but the problem is that the other 3 games he was plain crap.

Either way, good luck Matt.

Was always a huge fan of his. Real guy. That being said it made sense with Cousins leaving to get him off the team ASAP. Hope he joins Cousins in New Orleans

It's a two team league right now. I hope he goes to the Cavs. It will make the eventual finals that much more interesting. I also hope the Kings waive Reke and he goes there as well. Bada boom happy LeBron.

So since the Kings waived him doesn't that mean his salary counts against the cap next season?

Not sure, I think depending on if a team signs him the amount they sign him for the Kings are off the hook for. We should pm smitty because I am curious about this as well.

I'm not sure, but I think it does. However if he doesn't clear waivers the Kings aren't on the hook to pay his salary. Nobody will assume his deal though so it's moot.

The truth is, the cap is of no use now. The Kings won't need it for a few years and have only further hampered their standing with FA's as if that were even possible.

Even if he clears waivers? Either way he's probably getting a minimum deal so it won't help Vivek in the pocket books much.

I wonder how much Barnes is responsible for Cuz being dealt this year. It was up to this year you could argue that Cuz didn't do anything to put a black eye on the organization away from basketball, then Barnes came to town.

I believe the team has to pick up the option when a player gets waived

Barnes will clear waivers. His salary will count against the cap next year either in a one time hit at 6.4M for 2018 (they may do this given the cap space they will have and won't be able to use probably) or could stretch the 6.4M over 3 years.

So Barnes was stretch waived. So 2 mil hit a year isn't whatever he signs for subtracted as well.
