Just because it's projected to be a strong draft does not mean we're guaranteed to get a great player. History has shown that regardless of how weak or strong the draft is, there's at least one massive bust taken in the top 5.
And I know some of you believe that Brown, Smart & Rozier are all studs with high ceilings that any team would be lucky to have, but everyone doesn't think that highly of them and that's not unreasonable at all.
How many of those GM's have accomplished what Ainge's has accomplished? Look this is not mission complete don't get me wrong but Ainge had a .500 team that bowed out to the Knicks in '13. 3 and half seasons later with only one real losing season he is back to the #2 team in the conference with absolute ridiculous lottery gold still in hand from the decisions he made. He has made a legitimate playoff contender out of castoffs and those 3 guys are significant parts of what this team is doing even if the stats aren't pretty.
Look at what has happened in the East and you can argue that Danny is one of maybe five GM's who shouldn't be fired for the shape their franchises are in.
