Conveniently not allowing him any time to practice with the team if all is well.

He said that had Simmons come out this year he would not be a top five pick and likely not even top 8. Fortunately, I didn't strangle him to death, but I wanted to know your thoughts on where Simmons would compare to this year's crop.

we've got some real winners over on our board /s. Simmons would be #1. He's a generational talent like AD, KD, Lebron. He really is going to be that special. It's just jealousy really especially from BOS homers who don't want to admit that you will be further along on your rebuild and thus closer to your next championship after next draft. You'll have your Big 3. You still have trade chips to sell off and cap money to spend. BOS is also golden but I'd take Embid and Simmons over any of our players. Our teams should have a real fun rivalry in the 2020s.

I'm a draft junkie and, while I'm a lot less high on Simmons than many, I think he'd definitely go #1 to most teams this year. Too big and too athletic to pass up, given the faults of Fultz (not super athletic, might just be ahead of the curve skillwise) and Ball (nice overall game but seems like a complementary player without the ability to dominate in the halfcourt). I could see some teams preferring Fultz if they wanted a safe all-around scorer with nice size but it seems like Simmons would be BPA for most front offices.

Those doubting it should just watch some highlight videos side by side--you'll clearly see the Simmons creates separation with ease and has a couple of go-to moves that should work right away. Fultz does some dazzling skill stuff but it also seems like he'd have to settle for a lot of difficult shots for a while, and his potential is limited in a weird way by the fact that he already does most skill things well. He plays with a lot of polish, and that's ironically worse in some ways than being a raw player with higher upside. Sitll a really nice prospect with excellent size for his position.

Simmons easily number 1 in this draft. He is a 6'10 marvel with point guard skills. People are sleeping . Markelle may have comparable numbers but Simmons is on another level than all of these 2017 prospects.

Simmons has been posting some intense workout videos on snap and Instagram the last couple days

It would be a real shame if they don't let him play at least 15-20 games this season

Please please please be true. If Embiid think Simmons is better than him then we are golden.

I love it. Don't steal the ROY from him. Shut him down and UNLEASH him on the league next year!

Literally could not care any less about ROY

Get him on the court ASAP if he's healthy

He could have a financial incentive in his Nike contract.

Shouldn't dictate when the sixers play him in any way.

It shouldn't but if Rich Paul won't let him play I'd rather the Sixers take the hit than throw him and his agent under the bus thus souring the relationship.

Rich Paul deserves all the criticism he gets if it came out that he wouldn't let Ben play so he could "maybe" win some inconsequential award next season

I heard in that last day of training camp where he went down with his foot injury Simmons was absolutely dominating the scrimmage and had the staff watching in awe... then broke his foot a couple of plays later.

Charles Barkley said something similar about both Embiid and Simmons. Barkley was invited to a 76ers scrimmage by Colangelo before training camp... and was wowed by them. Barkley reckons if Simmons and Embiid remain healthy the Sixers will be challenging for a Championship in the next 3 years.

Somehow I don't think the Sixers management would be demanding Simmons play this year against anyone's wishes.... given how they seem to have absolutely no problem shutting players down. Rich Paul telling the Sixers that Simmons won't play this year... would probably be music to the FO's ears.
