Raptors would have to send out at least $7.5M in salary to get Chandler. Would cost Sullinger + Poeltl OR Bebe OR 2 of their other prospects

I got excited thinking that it was our Chandler for a minute but it's Denver's Wilson Chandler. lol

No, but I figured it's relevant as they are looking at Tucker or Wilson Chandler. I think Chandler will end up costing them more, and I don't see them willing to part with youngsters like Poeltl or Bebe.

May mostly depend on whether or not they want an expiring or a to pay Wilson Chandler $12 million a year the next two years. He's been playing well, so that's probably a pretty good contract, but that would also be giving up on a great rim protector in Bebe or Poeltl, last year's lotto pick.

Nice deal for Cubes.

Called the Rondo for Knight swap if it happens.

I think you can only try to build up a guy's trade value so long unless you tend to enjoy losing a lot.

Good find. I forgot they have to wait a year after he's traded

I get this line of thinking and it's easy to look at the drafts in hindsight and say Phily should have taken player X instead of player Y but I think the reason they went with the 4-5 year tank "process" is they looked at the odds of top 5 picks panning out and realized that not all of them will so by doing it multiple years the hope was really that 2 or 3 of the 5 or 6 guys pan out. Where as if you try to quick rebuild chances are you only land maybe 1 or even 0 guys that make a difference. If Embiid and Simmons or their pick this year are awesome their "process" will have worked.

The real dumb move they made was taking MCW late lotto instead of Giannis or even Schroeder. They knew they were starting a long rebuild so why not take a shot at the younger high upside guys instead of a 20 something MCW. Now they remedied that by getting the Lakers pick in that tragic Suns and Bucks deal.

Yes, I agree. I was more or less pointing out that drafting isn't easy, no matter how high your picks are. I would be worried for embid being that they kept Jah for insurance purposes. They could still easily walk away with only Simmons and Ok4 in the not to distant future. Not a great haul for 4 ultra high picks.

Would prefer to keep Knight the rest of the season if we are staying the course on tanking.

I'm pretty sure they only gotta wait 3 months or something short. They just can't sign him because they spent their money load or something to that effect.

No it's not. Now I do think it's very fair to criticize that Okafor pick since Porzingas was available and they already had Noel and Embiid on the roster.

The problem we are going to have with knight moving forward is (apologies if already mentioned somewhere else) how are we ever going to find playing time to raise his value back up? We can hope for a bledsoe/Booker injury, we start him at PF or we do the crappy trade and cut our loss only to hear about it from suns fans for the next 10 years of our lives. Yikes

If they're waived they have to be on the roster by March 1st to be playoff-eligible anyways, if I remember correctly. If I'm wrong on that, then either way if they have to wait 3 months, playoff rosters are set mid-April, which is less* than 3 months from now.

I don't believe this guy because the Raps trading for Tyson makes no sense. They're going to have to pay Lowry and Ibaka a ton of money, so they need to shed salary not take in a fairly big contract.

Unless they're getting rid of Valanciunas. Even then...
