I then fully expect us to be very bad again the next season. Just like the Lakers are. Everyone was thinking the Lakers were going to be good in here when the season started. New coach, Ingram..its all real exciting stuff until reality hits that you have an ultra young team with no real superstar yet.
Expect the same even if we get Fultz or Ball. We will probably roll out a lineup of Fultz/Ross/Fournier/AG and Biz and get our buns beaten in like crazy, but we will be fun to watch and have hope. And we will get another high pick. And by then we will know if Gordon is worth giving any money too. Elf as well. And if not, we will draft again to replace those guys and hopefully get the star to put next to Fultz.
It's going to be a while before we are good if we go in the young direction. We will be no different than LA. But it should be a team that you can at least know will be good in the future.
This is where I'm at. If we can use Vuc or Fournier to move up into the Top 3 (if we don't win the lottery), then I'm all for that. We have to continue to tank as well.
Josh Jackson, Jonathan Isaac or Jayson Tatum is where my head is at for this year.
Then Trevon Duval next year. DX has him #6 in their 2018 Mock. nbadraft.net has him #5. But a ton of bad teams will be getting PGs this year. So I could see us getting him in the 4-7 range.
PG Trevon Duval / Elfrid Payton
SG Terrence Ross / Evan Fournier
SF Josh Jackson / Mario Hezonja
PF Aaron Gordon / Draft
C Stephen Zimmerman / Bismack Biyombo
...and yes, I'm a big fan of Invader Zim. If we want to be a fast up and down team, Zimmerman is a scrappy feisty gazelle. His handle and passing have also surprised me. Only need to get rid of Vuc for Zim to get his chance to shine.
