Was this the first game of the season that you watched? jk jk

We gon' proved ya wrong BMP! This is why we love you. Tanking beats Learning bad habits! :D

What happens if we get another Mario and look the same next year. Repeat and waste another 81 games of fans time, staffs hours, players development, managements jobs and lose a ton of more money? This ain't a video game. Peoples livelihoods are at stake. We are already the laughing stock of the NBA.

The Tank only works if you draft correctly. That's why you gotta make sure you have a smart GM. Not one who drafts "another Mario".

For the tankers, a loss by Orlando to NYKs basically puts the Knicks out of reach of catching the Magic in this race to the bottom.

It's our duty to punch out the guys who want to win meaningless games.

1) 14k+ paying fans might not agree with you.
2) I see wins as meaningful, not meaningless. It is my opinion that Orlando needs to see what it has with its current roster much, much more than to gamble on a 18 year old that might be the NBA's next big bust.

..

The 50+ games before the all-star break hasn't clued you in on the lack of talent on this team? We know what we have and it isn't good.

This isn't 2015. This draft is deeper than Pamela Anderson.

I don't get the analogy.

Idk I just think this draft is Fultz, Ball, Jackson & Smith and maybe 1-2 under the radar players who'll get drafted outside the lottery. I definitely don't trust Henny to pick anyone other than a future rotation player.

In related news, Dario Saric named Rookie of the Month.

Henny wont be around much longer to pick any more players. Those 4 you listed are top players this draft but might wanna check our Jonathan Isaac and Jason Tatum next time. They will be up there as well. I feel like Smith has fallen off lately.

Anyone worried that if we do fire Hennigan and don't have an entirely new team and scouts in very quickly, we may wind up with a botched draft? What if we bring in a crew that just doesn't have the time to put together a strategy before the draft? There are international players to scout, a lot of 2nd tier guys that need looking into because we may have 4 picks.

This has really been on my mind lately. It started when I was listening to Woj talk on a podcast about the impact Magic Johnson and his new staff could have on the lakers draft since they are coming in so late and haven't been able to scout all year like the other GM's and staffs have.

With all the picks we have this year I think it's something we have to consider. Especially since our new GM will be coming in even later at the end of the year. Hopefully it will be a smooth transition if it happens but it could put us at a disadvantage come draft night.

Maybe they won't fire henny and co for this very reason?

The lakers are officially the second worst team in the league, bye bye pick. I can't blame this one on hennigan, the lakers have dodged multiple bullets to keep that pick.

If we keep Henny and go young like everyone wants I bet we trade up to a top 3 pick with Vuc as bait.

I then fully expect us to be very bad again the next season. Just like the Lakers are. Everyone was thinking the Lakers were going to be good in here when the season started. New coach, Ingram..its all real exciting stuff until reality hits that you have an ultra young team with no real superstar yet.

Expect the same even if we get Fultz or Ball. We will probably roll out a lineup of Fultz/Ross/Fournier/AG and Biz and get our buns beaten in like crazy, but we will be fun to watch and have hope. And we will get another high pick. And by then we will know if Gordon is worth giving any money too. Elf as well. And if not, we will draft again to replace those guys and hopefully get the star to put next to Fultz.

It's going to be a while before we are good if we go in the young direction. We will be no different than LA. But it should be a team that you can at least know will be good in the future.

This is where I'm at. If we can use Vuc or Fournier to move up into the Top 3 (if we don't win the lottery), then I'm all for that. We have to continue to tank as well.

Josh Jackson, Jonathan Isaac or Jayson Tatum is where my head is at for this year.

Then Trevon Duval next year. DX has him #6 in their 2018 Mock. nbadraft.net has him #5. But a ton of bad teams will be getting PGs this year. So I could see us getting him in the 4-7 range.

PG Trevon Duval / Elfrid Payton
SG Terrence Ross / Evan Fournier
SF Josh Jackson / Mario Hezonja
PF Aaron Gordon / Draft
C Stephen Zimmerman / Bismack Biyombo

...and yes, I'm a big fan of Invader Zim. If we want to be a fast up and down team, Zimmerman is a scrappy feisty gazelle. His handle and passing have also surprised me. Only need to get rid of Vuc for Zim to get his chance to shine.

Is this not the argument for Orlando to try to win games? If the overall #3 projects as high as the overall #8, then what's the differnce.

Now if you are sayin the draft is as Top Heavy as ...., well that is a different story :D

It does not matter if Phoenix wins a couple games. What the Magic need is for the Lakers to win about 40% of their remaining contests. (or for the lottery gods to be kind to Orlando.)

As I type these words, I see what the tankers is wishing for: Brooklyn and Phoenix to be worse than LAL, AND any one of the other teams leapfrogging in the lottery draft. But this is not a great differnce here. The third worse team has a collective chance of 49% to fall out of the top-3. In contrast, for LAL to fall to 4th from being second worst is a a lesser 44%. And wanting Orlando to be worse: the 4th worst team drafts 4th or worse 61% of the time.

From 2nd to 4th worst team is in a "coin-flip" range for Orlando to get the Lakers 1st in 2019 - of unknown value, vs. a very high 2nd rounder in the coming draft.
