On the contraire, it's actually bad news. Anytime the Clippers have a ray of light, they always screw up either by themselves or by outside forces.
Case in point: last year. Curry got injured in the 1st round vs. Rockets. Clippers took the news like smooth sailing, but they were facing the Trailblazers in their own 1st round. What happened the next game was bound for the book of curses: Paul got hurt, and so did Griffin. Lost in 1st round to Blazers, putting them in this ultimatum season where one more early exit will break up the team and put them into a 15-year playoff drought.
The other problem, as I previously outlined, is that the Clippers care too much. I think they will be afraid to beat the Warriors now because they looked at Barnes as family. They will feel sorry for him, after all they've been through together from Vinny's Tribe Called Bench to the Sterling scandal. Ranma will understand my following statement in that this Clippers dilemma is a classic Fuushigi Yuugi plot. Will you have the heart to defeat your best friend in order for the Big 3 to stay together, or let your best friend go by at the expense of your success? This has happened too many times for them, even during the Sterling era.
Doc Rivers has selfishly pinned the Clipper's nail in the coffin, all because of personal relationships to his standards. This could be the end for them.
