Age, measurements and potential tools/skills.
Mitchell improved a lot this year but he is 2 full years older than Frank.
Don't discount a young guy only because he didn't play in NCAA
Im not knocking Ntilikina because he didn't play in the NCAA....Im just not high on him from what I've seen/watched.
He doesn't seem to be an explosive/quick twitch athlete, His shot seems streaky, His distributing/passing doesn't jump off the charts, he doesn't seem all that quick and his handle does not look to be all that impressive either.
Obviously, I can see why some would be intrigued with him. The size/length/age certainly gives you a set of tools to work with and develop, I simply do not see a player worthy of a top 10 pick. I think he's a project and is way too much "Dante Exum" like to me.

Fine.
He's for sure a project and his trajectory could be Porz-like or Exum-like.
It will depend on health and intangibiles (blue collar etc.).
But imho in the lottery you have to draft for potential.
I repeat: i like Mitchell even if he's a little bit undersized as SG.
But I'd draft him around 17-23 not around 5-8.
I'd take the risk on Ntilikina in that range, even if i know that It could be a failure.

I would likely not draft Mitchell in the 5-8 range either, but I mentioned him because I would still take him over Ntilikina. Both would be in the mix for me in the 9-14 range.
Porzingis was a freak of a prospect. Sure he was somewhat of a mystery, but when you watched him play...you saw some of "IT". He was a long, athletic 7'3" kid who moved with fluidity....he displayed shot blocking ability and rebounding, shooting from the perimeter (which is unique form bigs) and finishing ability around the rim. Some of that opens your eyes.
When I watch Ntilikina play (which is very limited), nothing ever really jumps out at me outside of his physical measurements if he is being sold as a PG (mainly the length). As a SG, its less of a eye opener. Think he is more of a combo guard, and in that light he's less impressive to me.
Im not totally against the kid, and do see some of the reasons people may be intrigued with his upside....I personally am just a bit skeptical of his game and would not touch him over any of the 8 names I had listed.
