How do you figure, unless you're projecting Lin to miss most of the year again? We're much better than a 20-win team this year. We just lost our 1st/2nd string PGs and have had a rookie coach experimenting for most of the year. If Lin/Vasquez were healthy, we probably would have won at least 30+ this year, despite mediocre coaching and a revolving door of players/development.
Next year, there will be far more consistency, team chemistry, and better coaching. We have a young team so you also have to factor in natural development.
Without even getting into free agent outcomes, I think the team can flirt with .500. If we're able to add a few modest upgrades, potential for more.
Here it goes again. This is the same dumb rational that occured when people were predicting 40 wins this season. Yes we are going to have injuries just about every year. We don't have depth at any position so it will cause the team to lose. Our entire roster is devoid of talent. This was never going to be a 30 win team.
As history has shown us, if lopez is the teams best player again the win total is capped at 28 and can be as low as 12.
History has also shown us that Lin is nothinges more then a below average starter or a decent backup. He's consistently been a .5-.6 on VORP (Value over Replacement Player)
Do you think we are winning legitimately right now? Let's look at our recent victories.
Orlando is a tanking team currently slated for the 4th pick. Their fans are coming here to thank us for the loss.
Atlanta was missing 3 starters.
Phoenix shut down all of their vets and started the youngest lineup in the history of the NBA. It was younger then 7 of the Elite 8 starting lineups. Phoenix is slated to pick 3rd.
Detroit was a legit win vs a middling playoff team.
NY shut down Porzingas for our game and are currently slated for the 5th pick.
I can keep going but it doesn't take much to realize we have had alot of fugazee wins to fluff our record. This is a 14-18 win roster and unless we are signing top level talent we aren't going to be much better next year. I feel like people expecting more don't understand basketball. Getting to 30 wins would be a major accomplishment next season.
Never in my LIFE did I think I'd agree with Rainy. Jagger you are 100% wrong.

Please tell me how I'm wrong then. Unless we get multiple good players we are going to suck again. We literally built the team around backups, cast offs, low round picks and D-Leaguers. People got bent out of shape when we were projected to be the worst team in the NBA by major prognosticators yet that's exactly where we are. That's not being negative, that's being objective. Brook and RHJ are the only players on the team who finished the previous season as an NBA starter and RHJ barely played. Lin was a backup SG in Charlotte and Booker was in and out of the Jazz rotation. Would Levert be starting on any playoff level team?
I can post the stats supporting my point but people ignore the facts. Look at the players VORP and you will see a team full of replaceable guys.
