But we should be worried about getting "stuck" with his 2yr-$28.9mil salary, as if we're signing someone better for cheaper in the offseason...riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Rose can beg all he wants, but that knee makes him a suspect, and a better fit as super sub for an elite team. His lack of defense and refusal to look for his teammates was one of our principal problems this season.
I just mentioned Rubio because of the recent trade talk - but I really don't want much to do with him. I'd rather draft a PG who can actually shoot and pass in this draft, and use our future cap space wherever and whenever. There's no reason that we have to tie it up this season, unless we're getting a player we should want a long-term relationship with. Even if we don't trade Anthony this off-season, he is assuredly opting out at the end of next season. If we're really rebuilding, then just do 1+1 deals again with Rose's money, and plan on using Rose and Anthony's salary slot again in Summer 2018.
