Yup - acquiring Hill would be financially and age-wise similar to the Joe Johnson acquisition. Crazy contract but for 2-3 years it won't get in the way anything and by the last 1-2 years it'll be manageable to move him if necessary. A solid, scrappy, veteran combo guard to mentor the stable of young talented combo guards on the roster is an investment that would make sense.
1. I would love to have Hill on the Nets but why would Hill want to come to Brooklyn? Does he have roots here? Does he have ties to anyone on the staff or management? Has he mentioned interest in the Nets? Wouldn't he want to remain on a competitive team like the Jazz or go to a competitive team?
2. Lin will seek an increase but, of anyone, he seems like someone who won't want to break the bank. He accepted a bargain basement deal with the Hornets, he accepted an affordable deal with the Nets. If he has a solid 2017-2018 year and the Nets get a solid FA, I could see Lin seeking an extension at a decent rate - maybe 4 year/$17 per.
i think hill would be interested in the nets cause few teams would pay him the max besdies us. and turning downa 25m per extension with the jazz tells me money is #1 on his list
