Good assessment:

I think we lost about a half season's worth of development with how it all went down. If there isn't a trade it might be the same story next year too. Hopefully he doesn't let it get to him and puts in the work to keep improving but I'm sure he wishes any other team had drafted him at this point. This isn't a very talented team. Not so much that he shouldn't have gotten more minutes and focus on offense. It wouldn't surprise me if he gets traded or even that he wishes to be.

weird to see PsychoT in this league

always surprises me how much the Red Claw's play-by-play guy sounds like Sean Grande. Seriously, is this his younger brother? Cousin? Self?

Last, Guerschon has so much junk in the trunk it's like maybe there's another trunk in there. like Russian nesting dolls.

Green font?

I mean, we are fighting for the one seed. We have the best chance at the no. 1 pick. Wtf are we worried about giving a draft pick minutes when he doesn't earn them?

I want Bradley gone, and smart isn't starting. And he can't be allowed to shoot on days after he shoots 15%. It's like dealing with a child. Bradley Stevens gets armed with a squirt bottle. OK, maybe that's a cat.

The 6 assists is intriguing.

The shots and rebounds don't mean much to me on the surface (look at Mickey's shooting and rebounding numbers)... I need to see this mofo in Green!!

Yeah, unfortunately those are kind of bad stats in the D league :)
But better than actually bad stats -- and yes it was a heck of a night!

Yabusele was fine on offense with some nice passing but he was not good on defense. I mean his defense and positioning on that end need coaching, instruction, and effort. He has the physical tools to defend but needs work there. Brad Stevens will not play him with that kind of D.

Jackson shot poorly and took a poorly advised final shot, but looked very good otherwise. Nader looked good. Mickey had a strong night. Austin Ainge was there to see the game.

Mickey is a goner after this season.
Boston will get rid of Mickey & Young and replace them with Yabusele & Nader. Zizic and BK pick coming in too. Influx of young talent coming in...very cool.
Gonna enjoy the rest of this exciting season first, but the writing is on the wall for Mickey & Young. Both have had opportunities to show more, and haven't. I actually think in JYs case he will catch on eventually and become a solid player. But it won't be in Boston.

This is what I've been saying. Yabs isn't going to sniff the court right now because of his defense. You guys kill Rozier on a nightly basis for his D, Yabs would be 50x worse. Brad would play guys like Jerebko and KO over Yabs all day. Yabs should go to the euroleague for a year and play against some real competition with specific instructions from the ball club to focus on the defensive side of the ball. We can afford to wait another year for this kid

I have more confidence in Nader getting into the 2017 rotation than Yabusele.

I'm not saying that Nader is a better defender than Yabusele. But as a smaller PF, Yabu has a ton more nuance to handle at that end. Nader's role on the floor should be easier to learn.

I wish Jackson would supplant Rozier, but from what I've watched of the Claws, I'm not counting on it.

Having said that about Yabusele's D, the time to make a determination on him is not now. There's lots of factors involved in figuring where he'll play next year including cap space and his own development.

We'll find out where he stands after free agency and trade season, and maybe again going into camp. Decision time has not yet arrived.

what can Brown do for you? I think JB is ok. In hindsight I'd rather have had Murray but Jaylen has a chance to be a solid player. I don't see superstar though. He's still young and he has drive and he works at his game so he has a lot of intangibles going for him but outside of his ability to dunk I can't thinkof much else. He needs to improve his handle big time. That and get a better haircut and longer shorts

Take your tempered expectations and shove it up your defeatist ass. JK :D

"Brown will be a superstar" was an understandable homer overreaction to a number of good games he put together before being bitch-slapped by reality. Realistically, he has a lot work to do, particularly with the handle and it's unreasonable to expect his ascension to superstardom. There is a chance, but it's not particularly high.

Nonetheless, Brown has shown a lot of good traits in his game, particularly when it comes to scoring (by that I mostly mean finding easy openings in defense, something Smart can't do until this day) and improving on defensive side of the ball, it seems as if Brown can be a good piece to a winning team in a few years time. Therefore, I project him to be somewhere between Danny Green and Draymond Green (by impact, of course, their games are so different). Is Draymond a superstar? Of course not. Is he a top 15 player by sheer talent? No. Is he a top 15 pick for making a winning team? Absolutely. I'm excited to see what Brown can do with Celtics.

I haven't seen Murray enough in Denver to know much more that what I did at the draft time, which was that I liked him a lot, but I don't think he'd have been a good fit with Thomas or Bradley and thus not a right pick for the Cs from player/asset maximization standpoint.

Brown is just too chill for my taste. Not to say I'm down on him.

If only we could put Smart's heart, intensity, and cajones in that DNA, we would have a madman taking over the league.
