We made it. Hats off to everyone who watched every single game of this season. As I said in the game thread, this really wasn't easy but doable because the Nets played hard and competed. It's hard NOT to root for guys who do that. MrDollarBills wrote:vincecarter4pres wrote:Booker/Hamilton/Boston pick for Myers Leonard/Portland pick?

he isnt even the worst contract on his own team...
3 years/30 million. How is that anywhere near worst in sports. its barely even a bad contract and just under what next years MLE would be.
24 years old and a 7 footer who shoots 37% from three.
your off on him as a terrible contract

Leonard shot 34% this season from downtown and 39% FG, 51% TS 9 PER rating, negatives across the board on both ends. The dude is garbage Prok.
Portland can keep all of their trash.

22nd - RODIONS KURUCS
27th - JONATHAN JEANNE PF/C
57th - KOSTJA MUSHIDI SG
I think all of them will stay overseas
2017 Roster:
Lin, Din, Archie
Milos, IW, SKilz
CLV, KJ, Harris, RJ Hunter (dleague flex spot)
RHJ, Booker, Nicholson
Brook, Acy, Hamilton, Cliff (dleague flex spot)
as the season progresses Marks will look to move Booker and SKilz

37% from three for his career. on some decent volume. still a young player...
and even if you do think he is trash 3/30 is peanuts... nowhere near "worst contract in sports" or even 20 worst in the NBA

So you wanna turn Booker, Hamilton, Whitehead, the 22nd pick and 27th pick into Myers Leonard and the 9th pick? No thanks. Booker is worth a late first rounder (like Bogs was) and Hamilton should get us a 2nd. That's 3 picks in the 20's and a second rounder plus Whitehead's upside to get the 9th. Just don't see the value there.

The value is the 9th pick, these don't just grow on trees.
I don't think Booker is worth a late first unless there's a smaller bad contract coming back. Hamilton is worth nothing, he's neutral value, only his height will even keep him in the league after this contract is up.
Late picks are nice on paper and all and with a good scouting team and management you can strike gold, but the level of prospect available at 9 is infinitely better than those in the 20's and later as an in general.
It's better to hit on 1 Gordon Hayward, DeMar DeRozan, Kawhi Leonard, Dirk Nowitzki, Klay Thompson, etc., then to wind up with a trifecta of Taj Gibson, Batum and Morrow and this just assumes we hit on all the picks. This team still lacks a lot of big time talent, overall and the 9th pick in a draft like this gives our front office a much better chance of landing that guy.
For every Jimmy Butler in the late draft there are literally 100+ busts, where as in the last 20 drafts just at pick 9, forget anyone drafted after the 9th pick, up to say 17 where there was a reasonable argument they could have went 9th in their draft without even using hindsight, there are 4 legitimate franchise players, a couple fringe franchise guys, an additional 3 perennial All Stars, another All Star type and a couple rotation players/starters and a few guys who are still on rookie deal and might blow up. So out of the last 20 9th overall picks, we're looking at 12 hits, a number of them major hits and 2 or 3 additional guys who the jury is still out on.
Give me the 9th pick please.
