We still would've had Gallo and Chander, along with Raymond Felton. Pringles would still be coach, and maybe just maybe, his marriage would still be intact.
The amazing ramifications of Melo's greed.
No.
Stop the nonsense. We didn't have the cash for Melo unless he took a huge pay cut.
How many times must people be told this?
What are you talking about? Figuring Turiaf took his 4.3 mil option, we picked up Danillo and Wilson's options, and we let everyone walk, that would have left us around 40mil in salary. Cap was 58 mil. Melo could have signed here for 18 mil a year instead of 19.5. That is figuring we don't even move anyone, which we could have easily done.
We would have had Amar'e, Felton, Turiaf, Gallo, Mozgov, and Bill Walker under salary with the option to match Wilson. And room to sign Melo.
Melo wanted his guaranteed money before the lockout, that is why he forced the trade. We could have easily paid him whatever he wanted in the offseason, and kept all our assets.
