Yeah, but nobody said Fultz is on Jordan's or Lebron's level.

Ok look at Steph Curry in college. He had a team of nobodies and crushed it in the tournament.

Was Jordan really that good at 19?

After some thought, Fultz does seem like the clear choice here.

Some reservations, followed by retorts:
- Is he quick enough? He doesn't seem to have elite quickness like a Jaylen, but sometimes I wonder if his handles are so good that it gets lost in the shuffle a little. Dude has preternatural, prodigious skills with the ball in his hand. He certainly seems to have no trouble getting by his man in highlights, and seems clearly more capable of this than Ball. All of that analysis is heightened by the lack of space on his team. At least Ball had TJ Leaf.
- I can't think of anything else.

So yeah, Fultz is my guy. Only dude I think you can make an argument for over him is Josh Jackson and maybe Tatum. Jackson's jumper looks too much like MKG's for me. Tatum looks like a solid player who could be a star. This will be controversial, but Fultz seems like a rich man's Harden.

Fultz's conference is probably much better and Curry might have had a better coach. Curry was also older. I'm not saying you're wrong, though.

Who would you take? I haven't lurked this thread in a while.

I would down and take any of the other top PG in the draft depending on what else I could get in return.

How about this
Trade the #1, nets future #1, Rozier + Smart or some other trash Ainge can make look good, for Pheonix pick + Devin Booker?

Was he an 18-year-old freshman that year?

Phoenix aren't trading Booker. Not happening.
Good assessment:

If you're putting anyone but Fultz at the top, you're overthinking it. He has the highest floor in the top 10 and his ceiling is still all NBA. Maybe you can argue a guy like Isaac or Jackson could become better all-around players if they achieve 100% of their potential, but they have massive holes in their games right now.

Lonzo will be a superstar. Etc etc. Then some say Fultz is clear cut the best. But what's up with all the Lonzo superlatives? Nothing on Fultz anywhere near as much.

The argument the pro-Lonzo people are making is that Fultz is more ready now but Lonzo has more "potential." Take that how you will.

LaVar of course for better or worse has been trying to market his son like crazy. Has anyone even heard what Lonzo's voice actually sounds like?

Speaking of parents the more I read about Fultz's mom, Ebony, the more I like her.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2681205-long-overlooked-washington-star-markelle-fultz-has-everyones-attention-now

Ebony Fultz, a single mom and government worker in D.C., warned Romar and Chillious that any offer of extra enticements would end the relationship immediately. They promised her their intention was merely to care for her son as though he was their own. That convinced Ebony, who—with help from daughter Shauntese, who is eight years older than Markelle—had sheltered her son the best she could. Markelle proudly calls himself a "mama's boy."

College recruitment is shady and often times they start with trying to corrupt the parents. Instead she made sure to always look out for him.

Of course he had to be above board because just as Sebastian Telfair (or as he is known to those who vaguely remember him and have to google his name "stephon marbury's cousin") made a documentary about declaring for the pros and being drafted, Fultz apparently did one about selecting a college. Certainly much less charismatic than Sebastian but like Sebastian's documentary makes him highly likable. And there is a "second season" about his U of Washington experience which I am starting to watch!

From the above article:

"The day Fultz returned from Chile—after 36 hours of travel—Romar told him to relax and get some sleep. "Just be ready to join us on the court tomorrow," the coach said. Instead, Fultz sat down, caught his breath for maybe a half-hour, changed into his Huskies gear and proceeded to take everyone else's breath away with an epic practice performance."

Sounds like just the guy the Cs need/covet. I bet his workout will be off the charts.

By all accounts, the kid LOVES basketball. I want gym rats. Marcus, Avery, Jae - all the guys who have become key pieces are clearly guys who live in the gym.

Boston isn't excited to make that trade.

Curry was a junior who got in due to an auto bid and had a solid Xs and Os coach. He also had a really solid 2nd partner in Jason Richards, who spent time in the NBDL.

If Fultz didn't make it two years from now with a good coach and at least one other NBA hopeful on his roster, then I'd be worried.

Not sure if it's been said but Jon Givony from Draftexpress said Fultz would had been "easily" the first pick last year.

What's with this obsession to deal the pick?

Do you have a link to the article or could you point me in the direction of the interview? I'd like to read/listen to that.

He also says that Lonzo would be ahead of Simmons as well. It's the bottom video at the bottom of the page:
