Unpopular opinion, but I don't want to give IT a 5 yr max. Once he slows down on offense and gets even worse on d he could become an albatross. Offer him an extension this summer, if he declines, you know what to do.
Handsome.

Re: Trade #1 Pick for Porzingis?
The issue is after 2 years porzingis is due an extension and the money gets really tight. I think it's better to do Fultz + AB for Zinger + 7. Replacing Bradley with 7 gives you 3 years of a substantially lower contract and you should be able to get a guard who can contribute at 7. Either Fox, DSJ, Frank or Monk will be there.

You guya have no clue if you think this pick is worth anything other than AD. Thats it. Theres nothing more worth it.

Bender & 4 for 1 isn't something that should be quickly dismissed.
Depends on what you see Bender becoming?
If he turns into a Multidimensional Unicorn then 3 - 5 years down the road you are going to be very happy
you made the trade especially with the 4th pick in this draft likely being a quality player or Star in their own right.

AD would cost us way more. No way the Pels do it for the 2017 1st overall pick only.

Don't think it's really that unpopular or that unreasonable. With Fultz coming aboard he can play understudy for a couple of years learning. Maybe even another as a starter. I don't think it takes more than 2 seasons for him to make a major impact on this team. But he gets to come to an environment and not have to save a franchise right away. By that time IT would be in maybe his 3rd year of said deal. If you like him you can keep him. If not, someone will want him with 2 years remaining on his deal by then. Just don't want the 5th year. And if that becomes the hill he dies on, then he dies.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

i'm not saying you don't add, I'm just saying thats the only player in my mind that is worth relinquishing this pick for. I'm really not sure you guys have a good understanding of how valuable this particular pick is.

Something like a 3 year max to sync with Fultz' rookie scale would make the most sense to me, though I'm not an IT fan.

Maybe. Sounds like FO is very very high on taking and developing Fultz.
I'd say Porzingis, 7, and NYK '18 unprotected would make me stop and think.
If we do take Fultz, and have IT/Fultz/Rozier/Smart/Bradley as the guards, what next?
Bradley seems like the one who goes, if you can replace his secondary scoring with Rozier, Fultz and Smart, and his defense with Smart and Rozier. For a big? For a mid-lotto pick, like to Minnesota to take Zach Collins? Bradley/Crowder for Jimmy Butler?

Re: Trade Post-Mortem 2017: Eight is Enough
With things lining up for us now to bring in Fultz and hopefully Hayward, the only real intrigue is how do we thin the herd at the wing spot?
AB, Jae, Marcus, Terry, JB, and don't forget DJax and Nader (who I thought acquitted himself quite well in the D-League and showed that he could at least take Gerald's spot next year if not more)
Have to think no way Brown goes anywhere but if he doesn't, and we add Gordon, that's really gonna squeeze Jae's minutes. Fultz is really gonna squeeze Marcus and Terry's minutes. And of course Avery's 20M extension is looming in the background.
We all want a skilled big to come in here. So who's available and what are the trades to get it done? I've got Vucevic, O'Quinn, maybe Monroe, Trevor Booker, Noel (if you think Cuban wouldn't resign him), not sure who else.

I'd prefer to trade him to Dallas for that #9 pick (I love Zach Collins even more than I loved Myles Turner), but if we're not going to give up on the short-term, I just want to avoid having him and Fultz maxed at the same time.

so many of the things that Fultz does, you can't "practice" you can't "work on" you can't "get better at" they are things you either can or cannot do, and thats what separates superstars from stars and starters.

I do. At 19, he's the best PnR guard to enter the league since Irving. And he's more tailor-made for the way the game now than Irving was when he came out. Take all that he did at 19 and consider that he did it in maybe the worst offense ever constructed with literally no talent around him. He is a proficient scorer at all 3 levels. His defensive potential is immense with his measurable and his wingspan. Plus he may be 6'5 now. You take him, you lock him up for the next 10 years and you don't look back.

Well to each his own then. I'm not that high on Fultz like some of you over here.. Dont see big superstar potential in him.
