Booker and Leonards salaries for this season are a wash and say what you want about leonard but he is a stretch big who can also do alot of other things offensively.
we would add 17M to our cap and add the #20 pick. at 20/22/27 we would have alot of flexibility to add 3 guys or even move up.
we would still have 12M-19M n cap room, and up to 39M in cap room if we decided to move lopez.
Turner is a ball handler and passer who was great as a mentor and contrbutor early in the process for boston. i think he could help our young guys out a ton. 3 years left on his deal so he would expirw when we regain control of our picks
Okay, I understand Leonard since he'd fit our system (despite how horrible he is) and getting pick #20
You really don't make much of a good argument for bringing in Turner. He doesn't fit this system and he is by far one of, if not the worst, contracts in the league. Portland would need to give us something of serious value to take all of that garbage back man.
The #20 pick is the value for taking back turner... and he does fit the system too and was great with boston in a similar system. versatile enought o play multiple spots, great leader, unslefish, ball handler and passer. not shooting 3s is the only thing he doesnt do that we look for.
you arent going to get lottery picks to take back contracts like that. especially when it doesnt even get them under the cap. you can say "then we shouldnt do it" which is fine... but what are you spending that cap on instead?
id rather use it on turner then give a 1 year deal to someone
i'd rather keep the space free then, I don't think it's worth the 20th pick to absorb that much salary for guys who really aren't that good. Turner does those things but from what I recall Portland was awful when he was on the floor than off. No thanks.
