If I'm picking in the top 3, I want to draft a guy I think has go-to 20-25 ppg scoring potential. Especially with the way our roster is constructed. You need big-time scorers to win titles and unless it's a rare circumstance, if I'm taking a guy in the top 3 who maxes out at 15 ppg, they probably weren't worthy of the pick. Unless they are so incredibly amazing as defenders, passers, or rebounders. Especially when you're talking wings or guards, I think for a center that might be ok.
This Sixers team needs a scorer. Problem is, outside Fultz, there are questions. I don't think Jackson will be one unless he improves that jumper. If he does, I think he can be that 20ppg guy. Tatum could be, but I question his athleticism against NBA defenders. Monk could be, but I worry about him creating his own shot. That's an incredibly important skill. Even with Simmons, to be worthy of a top 3 pick, you can't be a player who requires others to get you shots. You need to be able to create on your own.
I just think at 3, the Sixers are really in a tough spot. I still advocate trading the pick if there is a deal to be made.
