I feel its pretty definitively an 8 person draft.
Who are your 8?

If Mitchell is a hit we are immediate winners of the trade. Either way Khris has only 2 years left in his contract. Anyway it is the draft board and while Pistons shop #12 I made clear that the only player to have #12 is Khris. The main concern to me is ... Will Mitchell be there ?

I'm seeing a whole lot of "meh" at our position in the draft. So much easier to get amped up and spend the time researching when you have a Top 10 pick. Hopefully the guys getting paid to do this feel differently than I do.

He's like Waiters + 40 lbs of pure athleticism.

If there was any draft in the last 20 years to get excited about picking 17 I think this is the one to do it.
I keep hearing this draft is deep, but I have to be honest and say that personally I haven't put the time in this year. A few names stand out, (i.e. Giles, Hartenstein, etc), but the only Giannis-like potential homerun pick seems to be the guy coming off multiple knee surgeries. That scares the begeezus out of me. Not sure I'd have the stones to go through with it. I'm interested to hear who I should get excited about if you guys are willing to enlighten me. ; )

Khris back to the Pistons lol

And Tobias back to the Bucks![]()
Hammond the guy that traded Tobias is gone, why not?

Harris is a pretty sizable asset too though. He's only 24, his contract is decreasing and under team control just as long as Middleton's he's an efficient scorer, good rebounder, and a decent defender. I think 2 first round picks and a high potential reclamation project in SJ and a dump of Henson's hemorrhoid of a contract makes it worth it. Maybe make that 2019 pick I mentioned unprotected. I would ask for their 2nd rounder this year (DEEEEEEP draft), but they don't have one.
And to be clear that wouldn't be my opening offer, that would be as low as I'd be willing to go.
I'm not seeing it with Harris. He is on his third team and was just traded for two expiring contracts. I don't think that he is a valuable piece
Maybe you could just trick Van Gundy with a Henson or Mirza for #12 (Pipe-dream). Everyone knows the draft get's mediocre after the 10th-11th pick, so the asking price might not be as high as we think it is. Stranger things have happened.

Take Johnson out ... take Henson out and add Monroe (opt in ) in ...
Middleton/Monroe/17
for
Drummond/Tobias/12
I am not a fan of Drummond too ... he is an overpaid Monroe, but that year when he was leading the league in rebounds was something that Monroe will never achieve. So he has upside yes, overpaid still , yes.

Ron Swanson wrote:I think we say the exact same things about every draft. I mean yeah, you usually have the one standout blue-chip guy (Fultz), then through the top 8-10 are the intriguing upside prospects, then it tapers out past the top-12 and once you get into the late lottery. Then we all talk ourselves into trading back because we're convinced that "there's guys in the late-1st and 2nd round that'll be rotation players or even starters", when in reality that rarely ever is the case.
Don't get me wrong, there's a bunch of fringe 1st and early 2nd round guys that I really like (BAM!, Morris, Motley, etc.), but I just can't talk myself into trading back unless it's a perfect situation. I don't really "love" any of those guys and I don't see some hidden Draymond or Gobert upside. Just take the best guy #17. Try and package a future 2nd or Vaughn with #48 to move up into the 31-40 range if there's a guy you really like there. Just don't willingly forfeit draft position just because you think a particular area of the draft is "weak", which as we've seen over the years, is incredibly difficult if not impossible to gauge.

What exactly does this mean? I don't think they're remotely similar.
